I mean I appreciate what he did, but this is the same guy who was complaining about playing time the day after winning the World Series. You can't allow that type of bs in your clubhouse, especially from someone who's not performing.

He really has been the only person to complain at all, at least publicly. Calling him selfish was spot on by Rizzo.

First WS in over 100 years? " But I didn't play enough."

Even though Contreras throws everyone out, "it was Arrieta's fault, not mine."

GTFO, and he did.

That he was a veteran catcher and still could not throw for shite or block a pitch in the dirt for shite always bothered me. I don't remember the last time I saw him throw a guy out and I watch a lot of Cub games. To me that is inexcusable, yet he was going out of his way to excuse it.

I'm with Theo....nobody got time for that.

Exactly. I can't believe he was a 2 time allstar with how he is defensively. He must be the GOAT at signal calling or something.

He was a good hitter for a catcher, but he's starting to decline in that regard as well. Probably the slowest guy on the team. Not much upside given all that unless he was a clubhouse leader like Rossie, which it is now obvious he's not.

People forget his hit actually won the WS.

It was a big insurance run, but Guyer went to 2nd on defensive indifference in the bottom of the 10th. If it was a 1 run lead, it would have played out differently.

Miggy was actually one of the few with respectable batting lines this season. Though I agree with your statement, I would say you can't allow that kind of bs no matter who you are.

Including that part kind of sounds like trying to defend himself, or absolve himself a bit for what he did/said. I think the point is that even if it was all on Arrieta, the problem is how he handled it...in public. The last thing this teams right now is something to drive a wedge. They need to find something to rally around.

One reason his numbers are decent is because he hardly ever plays against LH pitchers. He's had 13 PAs all year. He really only plays when he has a favorable matchup. If he played everyday, his numbers probably wouldn't be as good.

Patrick Mooney just said it took Epstein "about 10 seconds" to make the decision to cut Montero

Got totally wrecked with my buddies out in DC for a cubs game about 10 yrs ago after their new park opened, and picked up and railed a pretty damn good looking Nats fan after the game. All in all, a good trip.
