Schwarber bunting? Who's bright idea was that?

It definitely looked like Mercer took his foot off the bag before he caught the ball. I'm sure all SS's do that and do it often, though.

That neighborhood play needs to be revisited. I get trying to save guys from injury, but some of those are effing absurd. On some of them that I've seen it's not that the guys foot comes off, it's that his foot literally never touches the bag.

AND A SHUTDOWN INNING!!!!!!

Richard got knocked around a bit at the end, but a great outing by him.

Gotta admit, I didn't expect a win today, but the offense showed up in a big way. Fantastic win. Now lets kick some cardinal arse this weekend!

(I've got two upper deck box tickets on ebay right now for the saturday game, and they're currently sitting at $50 per for upper deck box. Auction ends tomorrow morning).

Magic number to get in the playoffs is 9. If the Cubs go 8-8 the rest of the way, the Giants need to go 16-0 to tie us. Not time to celebrate yet, but looking really good right now.

This looks real bad from Coghlan. This is the second time he has seriously injured a guy going at his knees. No need to go that high on a guy.

Keith Law chimed in as well...

Coghlan is clearly running at Kang here, not the base. I don't care if it's "legal;" it's disgusting.

I'll say this...I think where he slides is perfectly fine, however when he slides doesn't look good. But disgusting? Come on...that's sensationalism.

Coghlan sent Kang a note asking about his health and wishing him the best, FWIW.

ETA: Insinuating that Coghlan is trying to injure Kang is disgusting, Keith Law. You douche.
