Okafor is younger but shorter (they list him at 6'10 but I don't think so) and has a bad back

Chandler may be more hurt than NOLA is letting on, especially after that comment made a few weeks ago about the trade being rescinded because of Chandler's toe during the season and the questions surrounding him now.

Okafor's contract goes up all the way through 2014

2009/2010 10.538mm
2010/2011 11.540mm
2011/2012 12.541mm
2012/2013 13.543mm
2013/2014 14.544mm

I think the Hornets know that we dont have that good of a shot at winning the championship....soo getting a better scorer down low could help a little bit.

I do like Okafor over Chandler, but would like to see Amare playing for the Hornets in the next season or two. What would it take to make this happen?

dude, it drops it one mill a year, and locks up like 60 mill for 5 more years. its not a good deal for the hornets. there is no debating this

this is true, but the Peja contract would become infinitely more valuable as an expiring deal with a nucleus of CP3-West-Okafor. you need a legit SG (assuming Thornton doesn't blow up) and that's a nice team.

The only reason someone would want to go to NOLA is to get a chance to play next to CP3....But we would have to get rid of TC, DW, and Peja to make that happen. Or atleast 2 of them. So dont expect that to happen.

I get the expiring but probably never going to do anything there if they signed the guy to a extension just to move him 2 months later

I guess I'm just surprised that the Bobcats would sign him to such a large deal, and then rather inexplicably lose interest in him. Or have there been other Okafor deal rumors that I missed?

i'm guessing the Hornets are trying to contend again. I liek Okafor but I doubt he can put us up there with San Antonio or L.A.

if you take 9 shots a game, you're not the #1 option.

and it doesn't matter how long Richardson was there. he WAS there wasn't he?

you have to make the effort to contend in order to appease Paul. if we're good enough to get a 4 seed or better in a stacked WC he can't bitch and say the team isn't good enough

no, its not, bc we would continue to lose games for the same reason we have since these stupid arse contracts were inked

is what he did in 2007-2009 going to comfort you in 2014 when you are paying him 14.5mm?

he had a hairline fracture in his back in 2004, that would be a concern for me if I was about to trade for a guy guaranteed 5yr at that kind of money
