I don't know how excited Chandler would be to give a huge discount to a team thats traded him twice in 6 months.

well his arse better get over it, and come back to the man that made him

hey will probably throw in Desagna Diop and his 3 year contract for Daniels and his expiring contract

Diop's contract is terrible (what the hell was Cuban thinking), but he'd at least give you 15 minutes at a position of need. He is also young enough to probably give you those 15 minutes for the remaining 3 years on the deal.

I am a bit down on this trade, but it certainly is a lot better than some of the other things thrown out there (straight salary dump for ben wallace for one). It does make the hornets interesting and it improves them a bit for next year. Long term it might be a problem, but I guess they are at least shaking the team up.

We went a lot further than that. Pre draft we were saying that Bower was one of the worst GM's in pro sports, he wasn't capable of doing anything right, etc.

The draft was as solid as can be and this move is an A+ any way you slice it.

If this goes through the Hornets are a 3-5 seed again. We thought we were done until 2010/2011.

He's had a good offseason...but then again we said the same thing in 2006. He's definetly not the worst GM in pro sports of anywhere close to it. he's better than quite a few in the nBA.

IDK maybe they are thinking trade Chandler for Okafor and resign Chandler after this season is over at a cheaper price, only thing I can see, other than that it makes no frickin sense like you said.

well he's being traded for, for his shorter, less expensive contract

yeah well, that in and of itself should make the team more attractive to potential buyers, which I think is ultimately driving this. but I was asking about the lump sum thing because I don't see Bob Johnson coming off the 15-16 mil to buy him out all at once (assuming Tyson would want about 80% of his remaining money).

Nah - not if this trade goes down. We were all way off base.

Let's see how it pans out before you start the Bowertrain. The last two started out like this too.

Versus Wilcox/Smith - yes

Verses Okafor (Okafor, Howard, and Duncan are the only three players to average a double-double the past five seasons) - no

we still have to see what the next move is

we still have huge holes at backup big man and the 2, and we're small up front now. real small

I only read the first few pages ofthis thread where some people were against this trade, but doesn't this trade at the least help out with consistency?
