Does anyone else not understand the talking heads' sudden support of a 1 loss Clemson remaining in the playoffs?

You like to argue about the stupidest shite. Continually proving how much of a joy you must be to socialize with IRL.

Enjoying the melts.
A number of which seem rather odd.

This is pretty laughably bad at this point. Need to go back to the BCS.

I think Cincinnati at 20 is a joke.
quote:So the equalization for the SEC down and Big 10 up ALL just randomly had to come after the season?
The SEC starts the season propped up (partially because they play 4 OOC games, partially because of SEC bias) and has nowhere to go but down. This was just an equalization that needed to come.
I figured you'd have a logical retort, but that is pretty bad, I must say. There is no logic in that response whatsoever.

Considering Ohio State would still have nearly identical wins as LSU if they took Cincinnati out, but with larger margins, no.

Yeah I looked at App State's schedule and it doesn't look much worse if at all than Cincinatti's while ASU has better wins

As well as MIchigan losing by 29 and dropping 1 spot...is that normal?
As well as Wisconsin jumping up 4 spots for beating a team that commitee didn't value enough and dropped 10 spots, as well as Bama dropping 7.
All just for equalization, all right after the regular season?

I have no problem with Ohio State at 1. I think they deserve it.
I do have a problem with the committee obviously propping up Ohio State's wins.

Looking at the Massey Composite, Wisconsin is the highest ranked 2 loss team at 5th. Ahead of Oklahoma and Utah.
Penn State is top 10.
Bama 11th.
There's actually a decent correlation of the CFP to Massey.
The SEC certainly gets the benefit of the doubt. When they start faltering because they play each other, they have to fall.
On mobile so I can't do a deep dive.
Sorry to disappoint.

Nice of the committee to keep Oklahoma State in the top 25 for Oklahoma... don't have a prayer in the playoffs but it'd be nice to get there again.
The odds are pretty good that if LSU handles Georgia this weekend and OU and Ohio State take care of business, the SEC will have five top 10 teams, and LSU will have beaten all four of the others. That's incredible.

They are above ND and Iowa, 2 teams they beat. They beat the crap out of ND so they obviously think Michigan is better even with an additional loss
That is somewhat logical reasoning. After like 5 you can throw 6 teams out and rank them then 8 more and organize then 5 more

8 Wisky (31 point win) > 9 Florida (14 point win)
10 PSU (11 point win) > 11 Auburn (3 point win)
12 Bama (5 point win) > 14 Michigan (29 point win)
Yup, pretty easy to argue that the committee leaving Cincinnati at 20 wasn’t to prop up Ohio State more.

Michigan lost by 29 to the #1 and dropped 1 spot. I'd love for someone to do a deep dive on all the ranked teams to lose to a top 3-4 team and how far they drop after and how often they dropped only 1 spot.

it's the same logic you all hated when it comes to ranking one team ahead of another. End of story, you can leave all the other bullshite out of it. Whether you're discussing who should be playing for a championship or who should be ranked 10th and 11th, you're discussing who should be ranked ahead of whom, and now all of the sudden the logic that was lambasted in 2011 is being sung from the mountaintops because nobody wants to play Clemson in the first round
