No, there's not. That's his point. The "huge" difference between 45% and 41% is .75 baskets per game.

Then why is a 45% Shooting guard a pretty good % and a 41% shooting guard below average?

It's silly to think there's not much of a difference there.

Kobe shot 45% from the field this year and everyone says he had a good year. If he shot 41% from the field, they would say the same thing? No, because there is a difference.

Over a 77 shot sample size. It is not a huge difference, and you of all people should know that because you always bash those who bring up performances based on small sample sizes.

It's less than 1 made shot a game dealing with the team we are talking about

Which is what I'm arguing

Yes, 45.1 is better than 41.8. But in a 4 game series, that isn't going to be the difference in winning or losing as far as the Lakers are concerned

A healthy Bynum more than makes up for that 1 basket

Now if Pau continues to shite the bed, that is another story

now you're talking about a whole season, though. correct me if im wrong but the sample size we are talking about with lebron is much smaller, no?

You are comparing 4 games to 82. This may be the worst thing you have ever posted, and I agree with you the vast majority of the time.

WHOA!! Calm down shorty. What more need s to be said. The guy IS WORST than MOST. I NECE said that other players DON'T complain. But whhat Paul does is over the edge. WATCH a game UNBISAED and you will see.

If you shoot 41% for a series, you did not have a good series.

If you shoot 45%, you had a decent series.

I stand by there being a difference there.

Considering something like almost half of these playoff games have been decided by 5 points or less, 1 less make per game could be the difference in one game in a series. I say yes, that is a marked difference.

Like the math of knowing a lot of playoff games are close, and the difference of 1 shot per game could lose you a game in a series, and make a HUGE difference in whether winning or not?

That kinda hard math?

Really? That's weird since he shot below his career FG% this season (45.1% versus 45.4%).

is this whole argument based on the fricking definition and capitalization of the word "HUGE"?

And if I ever have any bias, it certainly isn't toward Paul Pierce.

What point are you proving?

I said Kobe shot 45% this year, you confirmed that.

I said Kobe had a good year by most standards, and I am pretty sure that is correct.

Sure, it could. But those stats are also not from playoff games. Also, here is the point differential from the four regular season games between the Lakers and Grizz: 21, 2, 19, 9.

Doesn't look like much would have changed aside from arguably one game.

I stand by there being a difference there.

Summing up a series merely by shooting percentage.

Here are Kobe's game by game stats if anyone wants to over analyze anymore:

The original point that in the 4 games this season between the Lakers and Grizz, Kobe wasn't affected much by them...to the tune of less than one fewer made basket per game.

It may be. But you said "everyone says he had a good year," and I was just wondering why since he shot below his career FG%. That wasn't a shot at you. But I guess the argument could be made that he basically always has a good year.

No, but again, the difference of 1 shot per game in a playoff series could very well be the difference between winning and losing that series, or somewhere close to that.

If I'm not mistaken, those 4 games were split, one loss by 2 points. That very well could be the difference between a 2-2 series and a 3-1 series.

Also, where do you draw the line? It's not a big difference if 1 player shoots 41% and his counterpart 45%, for example? Well what about, 2 competing players? A starting 5?

Where does it start to be a difference?
