The Big 12 is still leaning toward playing college football this fall despite the Big Ten and Pac-12 canceling their 2020 seasons on Tuesday, multiple conference sources told CBS Sports on Tuesday. This as the conference presidents are set to meet in a 6 p.m. ET conference call.

The league's presidents are scheduled to hear from medical experts, go into executive session then join the Big 12's athletic directors for a conference call to further discuss the viability of playing this fall.

"The mindset is it's too early," a Big 12 source said. "Unless the medical folks flip the switch, [we'll go]."

"This means the Big Ten and Pac-12 decisions won't necessarily cause the shutdown tsunami that was speculated."

The Big 10 thought aligning with the pac 12 instead of the SEC was the right move

Yeah I saw that they were letting their players go home for a couple weeks even before today.

Iowa would be a solid team in the SEC.

Bring in Nebraska and Iowa and lets do this...

Replace the Little 10 and the Pussy arse Conference with the AAC and Conference USA for a shot at the 4 team playoffs this year as a reward for playing...

If the Big 12 plays then the SEc and ACC will stand firm.

No they wouldn't.

Arkansas gets 7 top 20 recruiters and faces an all time toughest modern recruiting era schedule with a avg recruiter faced of #15.7. They may not win a game but are a better recruiter than Wisconsin who won't face a single top 25 recruiter and likely, quite easily finish in t15

Iowa is a worse recruiter than Wisconsin, who is the best recruiter in their division. Iowa wouldn't know what hit them if they had to play that kind of talent level every week. They be scrappy for a few games, but they'd be worn down into submission.
