Garland was a top 5 pick for playing well against a couple crappy mid majors and would not have been that highly selected had he not gotten injured.
This isn’t remotely close to true.

Curious if the NBA front offices are concerned about that.
That is not a concern.
They drafted players out of high school.

I'd doubt it. Players get a tremendous workload on the AAU circuit, so fresher legs is probably a positive.
Plus, the longer NBA season lets teams sit people to recover from injuries in a way they can't in the NFL.
Ultimately, you're not drafting Wiseman for his rookie year. You're drafting him to lock him down with his rookie deal and RFA contract. NBA teams are more open to the building process.
Guys like Embiid went at the top of the draft when it was known he wouldn't play at all year 1.

You’re talking about 90 games as if players were still expected to go balls to the wall for all 90 on a probably still crappy team(because that’s who’d be high enough to draft him).
That’s the essence of load management. These players are multi million dollar investments. The NBA isn’t gonna do things how they were done in a different era.

My guess is he didn't actually go to any classes in the fall, and is now academically ineligible.

The beauty of the one and done rule is how it exposed players for what they really are. Talent is obvious. The desire to conform to a system and grind through a limited college season is a good barometer of future success. If you can't adhere to a short window of practices, meetings, follow team rules.. Seriously, how are you going to make it on the professional level once you have money in the bank?
Wiseman seems to have other issues, with all the money and clearance questions. So I get him leaving. But its not college basketballs fault that he took money and illegal gifts, then got caught. I'm sure what was discovered is just the tip of the iceberg. I wouldn't touch him in the draft. He will be even more raw now and untested..

People that want to get a job? Who aren’t interested in school and who don’t wanna play ball overseas.

Lol
I guess the previous 18 years mean nothing. Adhering to high school coaching. The endless aau circuit.

You clearly don’t know what is going on.

The same way thousands of others did?

Which wasn’t his fault.

Yup. I was right. You clearly don’t know the story.

Jfc. When you go bad, you go all the way.
You know nothing about this ans now you are trying to impugn the character of an 18/19 year old w no facts.

Are you really this clueless? Do you not think thousands have been paid before?
Frick. Ayton was paid off.

Excellent post. You are still a crappy poster.
But this was a good post.
I have a theory... Cal was in Memphis last week looking at a kid at Briarcrest. Cal is still plenty pissed at Penny for stealing some of his recruits. Furthermore, Kentucky has lost some games to, shall we say, lesser teams. When Cal dreams about what could have happened had Wiseman been playing for Kentucky, it infuriates him. So anyways... when he's in Memphis, he looks up Wiseman and gives him a suitcase full of money to simply go pro. Wiseman, needing the money to pay off the NCAA, accepts.
That's what happened. You can bank on it.

That's probably a wise decision.
Or would that be a decision that a wise man would make?
