Jamison was dropping 20 and 8 a night in Washington before the trade, but Cleveland never gave a good enough effort to get him some decent help. Please.

No, not at all. But I don't see what other angle Gilbert can use.
I see.

The hour long special was over the top. But other than that whats your beef with Lebron?

He clearly did what was best for his career

I don't think he did.

He pretty much guaranteed he would never be considered the greatest of all time. If he stayed in Cleveland, went to NYC, or went to Chicago, that was still a real possibility.

Instead, he chose to join the American version of Real Madrid.

The rest of the country isn't going to buy Cavs season tickets.

I doubt Cavs fans will either once they go 22-60. I was talking about public opinion, though.

People were never gonna bring themsleves to call him the GOAT no matter what.

How many HOFers did Russell play with? Magic? Kobe? Bird? Kareem? Wilt?

I dont get the idea that he shouldve gone to a lesser team to "prove" something to somebody

He hasnt won anything. He isnt in a position to rebuild a franchise. He tried that already

I would have definitely considered it. While Magic, Kobe, Bird, Kareem, and even Jordan all had great supporting casts, they didn't end up with those players in the same way that LeBron did with Miami.

This. Hell, Jordan played with one surefire HOFer/top 50 player (Pippen) and one potential HOFer (Rodman).

Wade is a HOFer. Bosh is not. He's not even as good as Gasol. That's ONE Hall of Famer to team up w/ Lebron. Less than any of those legends you mentioned.

Do you see how this sounding though?

He didnt end up with legit players the right way?

What does it matter how it happened once you stack up his numbers and rings at the end of his career?

To me, it seems like he has the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" attitude, which is definitely not something that Michael Jordan had.

And I am far from a fan of Jordan, the person.

I get where you're coming from. But i just dont think he had a team that could win in Cleveland and he's already 7 yrs in.

If he had a team that could legitimately compete with the Lakers but was just getting whopped, and decided to bolt, i'd definately feel differently about him.

But he was never in that position

per Gilbert:

quote:

"LeBron James needs to go to another team with two superstars already so he can win a championship," Gilbert said. "We will win a championship before [the Heat] do."

the guy is making an arse of himself sadly

but I do agree with some of what he says

he should have never said the curse parts or that the cavs will win a ship before the heat do, because that wont happen

I agree with the part where he should have said frick lebron.

I understand the owner, and the fans for that matter being pissed, it could have been handled better by Lebron.

BUTTT if the owner really feels that way and had any balls he would have told LJ to GTFO a month ago instead of crying about it now.

And the fact is I agree with alot of what he said. Just bad timing.
