I agree that the Cavs will never get a legit free agent, but that is just because of their location. I doubt anyone would care that if they don't choose to re-sign, that the owner will talk shite about him.

Cleveland just needs to quit basketball all together. Just let the players go sign somewhere else.

He might set the record for squandering favorable public opinion/sympathy. Taking the high road and saying something like "we're disappointed but thankful for the time we had" would've helped set up Lebron as a villain.

Now he's exposing the Cavs as a 2nd-class, slipshod organization and pushing people to Lebron's side. The bluster and bravado might impress the dumber people in his own fanbase but it looks awful to the rest of the country.
