Catholic of BR beat Pine Forest, the No. 4 team in the state of Florida ranked in the nation's top 50, 36-28 last night. What does this say about football in Florida this season when Central crushed and humiliated Catholic High. When it comes to football Catholic does less with more talent than any team in Louisiana. Catholic is a great overall school, but they waste a lot of good stock piled talent.

It says Catholic played a great game. It says national rankings mean shite since we can so rarely compare teams on the field at the same time. It says that upsets happen. It's why the game is played.

The talent in Florida is not in the panhandle.

The Catholic win is great for Catholic, for 5-5A and for LA. A lot goofballs on here just quickly assumed they would get whacked in FL. Central is more athletic than Catholic in general though and I think it is too simplistic to blame the coaches at Catholic for what hapened vs. Central or STM. Catholic is good fundamentally at what they do, just not as athletic. Central is faster and more versatile. Catholic is the second best team in 5-5A, a top 12-15 team in LA 5A and a top 25-35 team overall in LA.

It says Pine Forest is clearly not located in Monroe.

ask a 9-1 team that went to the semifinals - how they got their one loss.....to a 5-5 team from the panhandle...

I'm not saying that if Catholic really wants a test in Florida they need to go to Central Florida or Dade County.

They weren't looking to play the greatest team from Florida; they both had open weeks and Weiner thought it would be fun. Pine Forest is a great team and I think we should all be proud of our Louisiana boys for going out of state to get a win. I didn't go to Curtis but I felt some sense of pride when they went and beat Hoover in Hoover.

COMPLETE FAIL

How can you say that CHS has gotten what they were supposed to out of their talent?

They have ZERO State Championships under Weiner yet they have had Countless D1 Football players play there.

Weiner and Catholic should have no less than 2 State titles with the talent he has had there in the last 15-20 years.
