Jesuit has 18 baseball titles to CHS's 2

Jesuit has 7 football titles to CHS's 0

Jesuit has 4 basektball state titles to CHS's 0

Jesuit has 10 soccer titles to CHS's 3... Jesuit also has a few MNC's as well.

Jesuit has 23 wrestling titles to CHS's 3

Jesuit has 35 swimming titles to CHS's 1

Jesuit has at least 11 tennis titles to CHS's 6

Catholic has Jesuit beat in track, CC, and golf,

Hows that for athletic history?

Well, that just about settles this debate. Goodnight.

blame Garidell for not winning more for CHS.
And add Weiner for football with Warrick Dunn, Major Applewhite, and Travis Minor on those teams.

btw, this thread is hilarious. catholic had one of their best athletic years in history (so much so, they feel the need to brag about it on a message board) and jesuit had as good of a year.

I have no idea how the team with Applewhite and Minor didn't go farther. I remember they played Jesuit my senior year in Baton Rouge, and a bunch of us drove up for the game. Jesuit got the ball first, put together a decent drive, then punted. The ball was downed on the 1 yard line. Minor then took the next play around end for 99 yards as Catholic went on to whip our asses. That Jesuit team went to the state semifinals too.

West Monroe and 20 year old, former LSU player, Tommy Banks ran all over Catholic. CHS should have won that game even up at West Monroe. That was in 1996, my freshman year.

rzd30, please learn to form sentences before you graduate from CHS.

As a CHS alum, I can say that Jesuit is still the premier school in the state across all sports.

Shouldn't this be weighted? Does it matter if you win state when 5 schools compete in that sport?

ETA: I ask because in 98 WM won football, baseball, softball, girls and boys powerlifting, and finished runner up/semifinals in girls/boys basketball and STILL didn't win the Piccadilly Cup because we don't compete in indoor track, wrestling, and water polo...

Historically, Jesuit has owned the state in almost every sport.

WM has owned the state in football historically. Jesuit has everything else, with CHS sporadically in between (except in CC and Track where CHS is in a league of their own).

Not a slight to Jesuit. Just saying a state championship in football should carry more weight than bowling. I say take the number of schools that compete and give that many points for winning state in that particular sport.

I agree it should be weighted. I don't know how it should specifically be done though.
