I wonder if Ron Lewis, the former CHS assistant under Estorge, CHSPC head coach and current Central Assistant has put his name into the mix.

If I was the one doing the hiring, he would be towards the top of my list.

Do you go to Central or Catholic?

No current students at Catholic played for Ron Lewis.

Cascio is young and it's would be taken a risk but I have coached against him back in the day and he is a great coach. He could get the job done but it would take a couple years. He definitely would not run players off or be hated by the majority of the school.

if they want Pixley they will have to pay him more than they probably want to and they will have to give him control of the facility during the off season for his camps and individual instruction. That is much easier said than done.

According to my sources, Pixley applied and was told "thanks, but no thanks" for the very reasons you just mentioned.

Dude Love is the guy, bring in Ron Lewis as his assistant, and you got something. They have worked well together coaching the middle school at Central, I belive they were 2nd runner up to the champions. (overall record of 37-7-9)I think he would fit in at CHS just like he has at CMS. I know that Watts has hired him as a consultant on the varsity basketball team at Central, they are putting in blood and defeating the inverted box and 2.

Cascio would be a great coach at catholic. I have personally watched his practices and I can tell you he coaches with a precise plan and purpose everyday. He might be young, but he brings high intensity and fire that player respond to. Look at what he inherited at CHSPC (absolutely no talent) and look at the turn around. He is gonna have a hell of a coaching career before it is all said and done...

Having played high school basketball at Catholic back in the day, I would say that I would hope every high school practice would have a precise plan and purpose. I know everyone of our practices was planned to the minute, and every drill had a purpose. If a high school coach goes into a practice without a plan and purpose then he is a pretty poor coach.

I have nothing against Cascio, but I just think he is way too young to take a chance on at a 5a program like Catholic High. He may be a great coach one day, but after 2 years at CHSPC I don't think he should be the hire.

Toups is an outstanding coach but he is a bit of a nut.
