Acuña does the swipe across the tomahawk almost every time he catches the final out of a win. Didn’t think anything of it after the game on a Sunday. Why do we believe it was a throat slash?

He should try actually doing it on the tomahawk and not the throat then.

Sounds like Paul Newman and the Hanson brothers in Slap Shot.

Because that’s how they perceived it. Rightly or wrongly.

This is very true. It’s night and day since Oscar passed.

Speaking of Oscar it’s hard to believe it’s been five years.

it reallllly looks that way with no explanation from him.

I'll take it as bate, which we did, and it might have helped.

if thats not what he meant, well, sorry? bit it helped.

Idk what else to say

Understood.

Really was just trying to understand what the perceived slight was.

The throat slash is certainly more understandable than all the shite Martinez was saying about Acuña disrespecting him.

It's pretty obvious he listened to the Blues HC Berube's talk before Game 7 vs. Boston

quick scroll through Twitter and Cards fans are saying something about a throat slash

I saw that in Game 3.

I generally dislike that from anyone, but it didn't get my panties in a wad. Yadi retaliated at the end of Game 4 after the walk off with the exact same gesture. I love Yadi, but his attitude and Carlos' are both not great. Now they are intense guys and may be excellent teammates and locker room leaders, I don't know, but I generally dislike the level of pettiness both of them have exhibited in their careers, particularly lately from Yadi. Still an amazing ballplayer, but... Dude is an a-hole.

I mostly just like that Schildt is willing to get up and say some shite to amp these guys up after a big win and a very up and down season, and to keep them looking forward and confident. No one expected the Cardinals to be here at the All Star break.

But to the Braves fans on here talking shite: (a) this was team talk that a rookie posted because he's an idiot, (b) attacking a fanbase based on where they live or based on grammar usage is as childish as it gets, and (c) it was a good series. I'm sure the Braves will be right there next year.

well no those are separate lol, carlos didnt like acunas homerun walk. but that the final out added fuel.

I honestly have no idea if he does that every out, it if he does, its not a good look from anyone who doesnt watch him or the braves regularly

Acuna does a thing where he crosses his thumb across his chest everytime he makes a big play as a tribute to someone (not sure who). It isn't a throat slash.

Molina is a bitch. We can all agree on that.

That Mike Schildt video was awesome though. I like it.

it unfortunately took till game 5 to hear this. But i hope you can see why this comes off as a threat when you dont know or watch. It easily looks like a gesture.

All of this stuff is stupid and doesn't matter now.

Acuna probably got hit because Ozuna got hit.

Martinez is only the Cards closer because flamethrower Jordan Hicks blew out his arm earlier this season. Martinez has been a disappointment and when his contract is up he'll be gone.

I'm sure it does, but he has no reason to throat slash anyone who doesn't pitch for the Marlins.
