Not at all, but it can't be said enough:

I'll never understand why this is frowned upon in professional sports.

I do understand not wanting to see your favorite team's star player wearing other team's clothing and such, but all of these guys grew up rooting for a specific NFL team. They're suddenly going to stop being a fan even though they have no control over where they will play throughout their career?

Eli said he was still a Saints fan.

Hell, Ike Taylor has a Fleur dis lis tattoo.

Non-story. Guys are still fans of teams they grew up a fan of.

Who cares? Cam Newton is still a freaking stud. I wonder how well he is going to do this year. His first two years have been incredible.

Nothing wrong with this approach

Whatever little fandom Eli had was revoked when he agreed with Goodell's bounty suspension. Ef that mouth-breather.

At first I thought this was interesting and then I read where he said this in response to a Q&A at an Atlantan YMCA. Really just not even remotely an issue.

While not on the same level, I've played against former rugby clubs and against NORFC. That didn't change my dedication to my current club.

I most cases that would be true, but being a Falcons fan is a serious character flaw, so that has to raise some concerns.

While this is true, some people can't help it as they are a product of their surroundings.

Well, it has to be a story because otherwise the media won't get paid.

Just going to make saints talk even more lolzy when the Panthers beat them.

While the Saints earn a spot in the playoffs and the Panthers are 7-9 with Cam Newton flexing I doubt they will care.

Maybe, but game day will still entertain me, what with the wishes for career ending injuries and all.

He's entertaining to me when he plays the Falcons. In those games I hope he throws for 400+ and rushes for 100+. He has been a pest for the Saints though, and it pisses me off. Seeing that guy run all over the defense with that stupid smirk, one of the most frustrating things there is.

My problem with the guy is his lack of leadership and bad attitude. He has so much talent, but he really doesn't know how to handle losses. He pouts, or he'll flex and be cocky after scoring a touchdown while still being down by 21. He may very well end up being a great leader and have the Panthers as a good team for years, but I wouldn't bet money on it.
