re: Cal should have 4 championships. He has one. Overrated?

Pretty sure it doesn't. The Harrisons, WCS, Poythress, Lee, and Johnson all returned for a second season. Is there some magical new rule that keeps them in school for two years now I'm unaware of?

Nobody rates Cal higher than Smith or Wooden FYI

OMG a second season? Such student-athletes they are. Emphasis on the student.

Difference is Cal can't win.
Except for he has.
You're really bad at this whole "I'm a Wisconsin fan for this basketball season!" thing.

So it was a stupid comparison? Yeah I agree.

Oh burn.

I wasn't comparing them. I was using Wooden and Smith as universally agreed great coaches to show how dumb your criteria of "players who shouldn't be in college" was.

You said he's doing it on the backs of players who shouldn't be there. They stayed longer than they "should" by the rule.
Now what dumbass argument are you trying to exercise with this comment?

Except you failed in that endeavor.

Is it not obvious? The one and done rule is bullshite and makes a mockery out of college basketball.
Now that I've made that explicit, I'd love to hear your retort.

Tough to win 6 in a row at that level
Especially with cal having a new team ever year. Don't underestimate continuity, maturity and experience. Three things that can't really be taught
Ironic to see Coach K embracing the one and done and possibly beating cal at his own game. Would have enjoyed a cal vs k final
I think wisky's depth beats duke Monday night

Clearly, because you still don't get it. And it was really only for you. The half-intelligent and the unbiased understand. It's not difficult.

Duke is the one team that whooped UW this year. Dekker was hurt, but still ...

Except they weren't one and done. He had a good mix on the 2012 team that wasn't one and done.

Your logic is poor?

Perhaps you should frame your argument for the fully intelligent then.

Seems like ages ago
Wisky is the kind of team that gels and gets better
I think duke only playing 8 will hurt them especially if fouls come in to play

I think K's strategy has been to take 1 one and done every year or every other year. The problem is each of the one and dones has lived up to expectations, except for Austin Rivers, to some extent. Add to that, Kyrie and especially Justise really being much better than what any of the analysts expected. Kyrie was viewed as a 2 year guy, and Winslow was even considered a 3 year player before the season started.
Which explains both how we did really well this year and why we will be really bad next year.
Wisky just has 7 guys. One of the few elites with less depth than us.
As for Cal, he did a great job with this group. The biggest problem was something he had no control over. He scheduled brand name teams. However, Texas and UCLA both sucked (generally agreed by most that they were only in the field of 64 based on their names). The SEC was bad, and Florida was far worse than anyone expected. His guys weren't tested enough, imo.
