As a big LSU fan, this looks legit AF. Smaller and nicer is better than bigger and, well; shittier.
The irony is that SMU’s ford field might be a more attractive venue one day than say Neyland.

Once the east side is renovated and mirrors the newly completed west side, the stadium will be pretty legit for holding 32-34k.

Playing LA Tech, Southern Miss, McNeese, Houston, etc more often would help some.
No doubt regional rivalries are better for attendance. LA Tech (starting next season) and Southern Miss will both be yearly conference games and McNeese is visiting Cajun Field this year. Houston now being in the Big 12 may be more of a challenge to get on the schedule going forward, but there is a history of playing semi regularly in the past

One of those is an FCS team, which since about 2011 or so we have always scheduled one FCS team per season for a home game, and it’s typically been a Louisiana FCS team, including McNeese. The other one of those teams, UofH, is a P4 and likely not going to come to Cajun Field.
We will be playing Southern Miss every season since they’re in the SBC West with us.

Yea, I get that. Was really just rattling off some schools. But certainly the closer regional matchups is better than playing some northeast school. And also having to travel there for the road game.

That’s what we try to do, but scheduling isn’t always perfect.
1 game at a P4
1 game hosting an FCS program, preferably one if the LA schools, if not, then Lamar or Texas Southern
1 game hosting an OOC G6
1 game at an OOC G6
6 SBC West games
2 SBC East games

According to the people I spoke with, construction in the East side will begin this offseason. It will be ready for the 2027 opener.

I like the update of the press box, I dislike the fake grass.

The east side will be a mirror image if the west side

I agree, but when you're trying to stretch pennies, that's one of the spots to hit.

Correct. That's the reason why almost all G5 schools have turf

It’s really nice. Will try to catch a game this year. It’s a shame the place doesn’t even get close to halfway full.

I have no connection to ULL outside of living in Lafayette.

For the past five or so years we’ve told the Greek student population they aren’t welcome at Cajun Field. Even during the Baldwin & Bustle years they’d show up when the student attendance overall was suffering.
Our brilliant administration has recently treated them like lepers.
I feel ya, Tech has pissed off lots of people with silly game day rules that make zero sense.

We have garbage attendance, no argument from me on that point.
Haters gonna hate.

Half of it was closed, padnuh. Don't you have a Paul Skenes shrine to jerk it to?
