Why isnt Devon Stills not receiving this award on behalf his daughter?
This or either Jim Kelly would be a couple of my choices
I dislike Jim Kelly and he is a bit of a douche IRL, but either Devon Stills or Jim Kelly hands down should be given this award of Bruce Jenner.
ESPN and the rest of the media for that matter, have jumped the shark and are pandering for clicks. The problem is people are buying into it and the money is rolling in to these companies. Trolling for dollars.

Good for her. Takes a lot of courage for her to do what she did, and it's well deserved. I'm glad she feels comfortable enough to do something like this publicly, especially with the amount of slack she will catch from a large portion of the population who doesn't understand, empathize, or sympathize what someone like this is going through.
His momma named him Bruce, I'mma call him Bruce.

You have a problem with capitalism?

I have never ever been more fricking disgusted with anything in my entire life. This scumbag is awarded the courage award? Really? What the frick is wrong with this world? To me Bruce Jenner is just a freak. A complete freak. That's it. Jimmy V has courage. Devon Still has courage. Stuart Scott has courage. Pat Tillman has courage. Pat Summitt has courage. Eric Berry has courage. Jim Kelly has courage. And I'm not even mentioning the thousands and thousands of men and women bravely and voluntarily serving to protect this great nation from any outside harm. Bruce Jenner has no fricking courage whatsoever. And for some people around the country to call this idiot a hero is even more appalling. I never get worked up over anything, but I'm sorry, I am just truly fricking disgusted that Bruce Jenner is even being compared to some of these great people, and he is being rewarded for it. This is what's wrong with society today. Bruce Jenner is just a desperate, attention-seeking piece of shite who is afraid of his own dick. He has no courage whatsoever. frick Bruce Jenner and everything he stands for.
Sorry for the long post ladies and gentlemen, but I thought I just had to state my opinion on this.

I can't speak for him but it's probably more of a general frustration at what generates "clicks", money, interest etc... in our society.

Yeah, I try to be a pretty open-minded dude, but all of this trans-gender/gender-confusion stuff seems like it has been shoved down the public's throat the last year or so. I'm not necessarily in the camp of people calling this a mental illness (see O-T thread), but at some level I think the dude is just a cross-dressing confused freak and it's an embarrassment to give him an award with Arthur Ashe's name on it.

I get what you're saying but just playing Devil's Advocate, does being diagnosed with a disease automatically mean someone has "courage"?

I understand that, but can't hate them on trying to make a quick buck.

More so than what Bruce Jenner has been through. I understand diseases are part of unfortunate circumstances, but people like that as well as their families overcome a lot to be even close to the person they used to be. It takes a lot of confidence, determination, as well as courage. To me, none of this applies to Bruce Jenner. That's all.

No problem at all. They have every right to make money. My problem is with all the suckers that drive the business and the new way that ESPN is pandering for Twitter trends. It's shortsighted and stupid, even if it's lucrative. I hate ESPN for the same reason I hate Pitbull.

I have said it in other threads for months: the Supreme court is about to legalize gay marriage and the left needs a new wedge issue to paint conservatives as out of touch extremists who are on the wrong side of history
Transgenderism and gender identity will be that new wedge issue. This is all coordinated and by design

Who is coordinating it and who designed it?
