Fly over have been going on since Planes were invented.

The football club or NFL request the flyovers, they do not just show up on their own.

Trump did not create flyovers.

I’m sure it’s been mentioned already, but flyovers are almost always a part of a training sortie/check ride/incentive flight that would have happened anyway so that pilots can stay current.

This. There is an airport right next to the Talladega Super Speedway. Every time the Navy would handle the fly over at the race, they'd spend the next 30-45 minutes practicing "touch and go's" at that airport.

Yeah I don't really get the fuss about this

At worst it's just ignorance about how flyovers are conducted, but even then saying "a flyover is kind of a waste for this small crowd" isn't exactly offensive

Flyovers are dumb. They have not shite to do with a football game or sporting event.

They are clearly not a waste of money if it’s part of training though so that point was dumb. (Although how often do jets fly in formation like that in an actual mission type situation? Serious question?)
