I don't follow golf. What makes a major a 'major'? Are these courses tougher than your average PGA course? Are you considered a better golfer if you win a major as opposed to a regular PGA event? How many regular events do you need to win to equal a major win?

Majors have the best fields due to what it takes to get qualified to play in one and usually the conditions are harder compared to a regular tour stop.

I randomly followed him for a while when he played the Zurich Classic with his brother in 2017. Family was extremely nice and his lady was finer than frog hair.

I know, cool story.

Not really. Especially when it comes to the Masters.

All majors take in Amateurs and other qualifiers. There are other events which go strictly on rankings that have tougher fields

Masters is especially watered down with the past champions

Brooks won back to back US Opens and he finished second this year when he went for the three-pete. That alone is incredible.

In the midst of doing that he won back to back PGA Championships and finished one shot behind Tiger in this year’s Masters.

Rory isn’t even in that conversation right now.

Because of the qualifications, the Masters' field does not have a set size. This is important because it means older players with lifetime invitations are not taking spots from somebody who may have a better chance to compete.

Correct, The Players Championship has the deepest and toughest field annually.

Brooks wins in every way against Rory, I mean look at that THOT Brooks has. I'd much rather hang with Brooks than Rory.

Brooks may be the best player on tour but you get what you ask for when you complain about pace, want to shorten the game, say you never practice, and only get up for majors. It’s like the Lebron, AD, Kevin Durant, school if I wanna be the villain, but why doesn’t everybody like me??. You have to pick one, bad guy or good guy.

I’m not a huge Koepka fan at all, but I do love his zero fricks personality.

*except his clear frustration with not winning POY.

Koepka is not Andy North, 2 US Opens and 1 other PGA win.

Keopka has 4 majors 7 PGA Tour wins and 6 European Tour wins.

Your argument is something that bama fans wishes they could do. Moving the goalposts.

Brooks is kind of a douchebag but I don't hate him for it

Rory, but what is your point. I didn't even know Rory was named Player of the Year until I opened this thread.

But I did find this article.
quote:

In reality, McIlroy and Koepka each won three PGA Tour events. The argument around McIlroy involves his consistency throughout the season — the Tour’s lowest scoring average and 14 top-10s in 19 starts — plus winning the Players Championship and the FedEx Cup. The argument for Koepka revolves around the major championships, including his win at the PGA Championship and three other top-4 finishes. Johnson, who won Player of the Year in 2016, could see both sides of the argument.

Yeah, I don't see the big deal. They both had legit arguments.

Which, to be fair, was an absolute joke.

Won a WGC and another tournament last year.

Is the #1 ranked golfer in the world. But yeah, he’s done nothing outside of majors.
