I own stock in the Braves, so kinda. I just don't get blocking a top ten prospect in Kristian Campbell that plays second.

I think it’s a valid concern when the owner clearly has limits to what he’s willing to spend.

People also forget how elite his defense is. He will be one of the best 2nd baseman in the league even with him not having any experience there.

Cubs being cheap yet again

As a Cub fan in this case, I say good. Bregman's still good but $30 mil a year much less 40 a year IMHO would be overpaying. His peak years were 5-6 years ago and it's be a slow but steady decline in production since and it's almost certainly never going to get back close to the peak production days, in fact slow decline will likely continue.

As an LSU and Bregman fan, good for him but glad someone else is overpaying. I've been saying it's not the cheapness for me with the Cubs it's the guys we overpay who do not live up to it like Heyward, Nevis, Chatwood, Descalso and on and on that kill us. It's the reason Milwaukee with half the payroll beat us by 10 games last year.

You never know, he may get a boost by playing in Fenway for half his games there.

Bregmans season doesn't start until mid May.

Some of it is deferred, so that will help with taxes.

He’ll hit .180 and be benched by late July.

On the surface this seems like a good signing for Boston. They are a better team with Bregman even if they overpaid a bit. The signing solidifies their infield and not needing to rely on one of their top prospects with the pressure to perform.

We will see what kind of pitching they can put together.

Not glad he's gone but you could tell he and Tucker lost that Astro's loving feeling. Good luck Breggy, and thanks for the memories. Tucker, well we don't have to worry how many games he'll miss again

Yeah he’s not worth $40M a year

Someone with lots money believes that he is. And that's all that matters.
