all they are seeing is numbers right now

no shite, everyone needs to look at his career stats that i posted

SUB 700 CAREER OPS

the only thing about this i can say, is this could possibly give the braves the flexibility to add a power hitting outfielder in the offseason. honestly, i would start infante and prado up the middle and load up somewhere else. those two leading off the lineup are great hitters. not every team needs a hanley

also, what about shifting prado to short and going after dan uggla. hes on the block per lots of people

supposedly the braves got two decent prospects though so hopefully they can develop.

one of them is pretty damn good but he's a lefty out of the bullpen. do we really need another lefty out of the pen? the other guy looks like shite, other than having speed.

Not for long. Go ahead and mark my words. Unless Infante starts at short everyday, then I'd change my tune.

And not to mention the future. If we had a guy in the minors waiting in the wings at short, then I'd be okay with this. Problem is, we don't

I actually heard the same thing about the Renteria to Detroit deal. I'll take JJ any day.

More often than not, FW has come up golden since he took the reins. This is about adding power for the stretch run, not OBP

I'm not sure about Gonzalez at all but good riddance. I was a big fan for a while and just assumed he would someday grow up but he never did.

They were obviously just sick of him. Cause I think most people assume he would get hot at some point. But he's just a frickup who loafs a lot.

yeah and we had the most wins in the nl with our ss providing no power whatsoever. y7ou know thats not going to last. you dont trade low unless its an internal issue, you just dont do that, especially when you are in the drivers seat for the pennant

I agree. I am not pleased at all. Why do we do stupid arse shite like this when they think they have a shot at the post season. I have yet to criticize Wren, but this is piss poor and short sighted as hell.

dont go that far, remember yunel hasnt done dick, but that is precisely the reason NOT to trade him. baseball is an average game and he wasnt going to hit that shitty all year

I know dude, we were the few who liked Yunel and his potential. But i mean, if he's hurting the team, he's gotta go.

And A lefty out the pen isn't so bad, now we can get rid of chavez (eventually)

Okay that first part was a bit too extreme but I do believe this makes us a weaker team and it'll be much closer than it would be. Plus not to mention the next few years at short. I just don't understand why this trade happened.

If you want power, go after an OF or get someone who's a better all around hitter

we have the most wins in the league. How was he hurting the team? He could actually only make it better once he got going, which he would have

Maybe this comparison will speak to them in terms they understand: Alex Gonzalez vs FranceourBB/K

LOL, were going to all of a sudden plummet out of first place because we replaced a guy hitting .240 with 0 HR's and who was a frickup? I'm not sure about the future, obviously we were just sick of Yunel and assume we can find a more permanent shortstop in the offseason but we are not going to all of a sudden start falling from the sky because we lost fricking Yunel Escobar.

Gonzalez may fall of the face of the earth hitting wise (he may go .240 with 0 HR's and even a lower OBP) but he's also a very good defensive shortstop which hasn't been mentioned here.

Also getting rid of JoJo is a plus.

this is the worst thing really

we have nobody. infante could play there, but hes great utility man. prado cant play short. i would love to go after danny uggs and move prado to short but dont think he can play there
