I can't either. Kemp didn't have the protection, the good lineup, or something to play for and he still kicked arse. Doesn't make much sense other than "give it to the winner". Same thing with ellsbury.

Kemp and Bautista are cut and dry the most valuable players to their team, IMO.

Braun is sick, though. I don't mind him getting some accolades.

Yeah I could see a case for bautista but it felt like he just faded hard the second half.

Just can't wrap my head around why the voters went that direction.

braun won games down the stretch on his own.

the rest of their stats are pretty similar. Braun won because he propelled his team into the playoffs. Check out his splits over the last 2 months of the year. Or over the whole 2nd half of the season. He was amazing.

when, exactly?

they had a 10 game lead on STL at one point in late August.

I could make the argument for Kemp that he took a really shitty LAD team that was at one point about 20 games under .500 and got them back to just a few games under by season's end.

Well no doubt. He's not a bad choice.

Exactly. The only reason I wanted Braun to win it because I picked him preseason as the NL MVP. However, I would have voted Kemp and Bautista fo sho, but there were other worthy candidates.

Kemp finished the season leading the NL in Hrs, leading in RBIs, and 3rd in BA. Not to mention he was 1 HR shy from a 40/40 season. A 40/40 season in which only 4 other players in MLB history has accomplished. Kemp got screwed!
