14 recs, 116 yds, -2 TD's. That seem WAY more effective to you?

It is whenever you factor in manning not being able to throw last year in December

Right now, IMO:

Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker, Percy Harvin > Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Wes Welker

However, Percy Harvin will be cut and Wes Welker won't be reigned...

Ok? I think DT88 is a top 5 receiver in the game and in the prime of his career. Marshall is going to be 31 yo this season. DT88 > Marshall. Emmanuel Sanders truly showed his ability this past season with speed, route running and incredible hands. Decker is a very good receiver as well but it's still Sanders > Decker. Harvin is never healthy and isn't a great receiver. Great athlete, not a great receiver.

That's a fair argument, but let's not act like Marshall is not still elite. He's still top 10 in the league. See above for the Decker vs Sanders debate. There nearly the same player, with Decker being more versatile because of his significant size advantage. Harvin/Welker is irrelevant, I agree. All of this goes back to my original post in this thread in saying that the Jets have what is prlly one of the best, if not the best WR corps in the game now. This all started because one jackass says, "not even close". Oh really? It's not even close huh? That's a pretty asinine statment because the Jets do in fact possess one of the best WR corps in the game, and Im left defending myself against everyone that is piling on.

Julius Thomas was banged up and Welker was a ghost. Sanders had way less competition for targets than Decker did the year before in Thomas' break out campaign. Didnt denver have four 1000 yard/ 10 TD WR's that year for the first time in the history of the NFL? Decker had more competition for balls two years ago than Sanders did and still put up almost the exact same numbers so your point is irrelevant.

Decker had 137 targets.
Sanders had 141 targets.

This might be controversial, but I don't think Marshall is elite anymore. I see him being more of a possession receiver and RZ target due to his size and natural ability. But I don't think he's a guy that defenses have to spend too many resources focusing on anymore. I could be wrong though.

And Sanders produced

with those 4 extra targets.

I was addressing your argument that Decker had much more competition for targets.

I think he's getting long in the tooth and he is one the back end of his prime, but I also think tha the Bears were so elite in the WR corps category last year with Jeffery and Bennett in the mix and Cutler's typical shennanigans that his production suffered a little. Obvious back injury as well. Perhaps he has one or two more top 10 seasons in him, albeit not with NYJ and Geno.

For all the crap people throw at Flacco, he's been pretty good. At least top 7. In no particular order: Brady, Manning, Roeth, Wilson, Rodgers, Luck... Flacco. Rocket arm, pretty good accuracy, tough to take down, doesn't get injured, mobility, good pocket awareness. Go Ravens!

Yea, I got ya. But if you look close at that, Manning had 659 att's in 2013, and 597 att's in 2014. Decker had .207% of Mannings targets in 2013 while Sanders had .236% of his targets in 2014.

He's benefited from a stout defensive unit for the majority of his career and a strong running game. He's never had elite weapons around him as far as the passing game goes. But, I think Baltimore likes the underrated WR.

Wish we'd draft a true #1 WR to perk up the offense. Now we might have RB problems even if we get a stud. The defense was just so injured last year I can't see that happening again. Defense should be pretty stout with a CB & S drafted. Ozzie's got the draft down.

Flacco is better than Brees and Romo?

Gtfo

To even have Wilson and Flacco included in a top 7 QB list is absurd.

They get rid of a big contact and they've got Alshon who was better than Marshall all last year.

Meh Jeffrey has questionable hands and runs subpar routes

Marshall prime >>> DT prime

People forget that Marshall flat out balled up until last year. Dude would have been absolutely filthy with a consistent QB and a straight head, like 150 catches a year filthy

Do you think the NFL will allow him to sign with the Jets?

Probably. Ain't nobody got time for tampering charges when it's at the expense of the Pats.
