Please tell me that you aren't knocking this lady and her grandson?

To further add, I have a son that plays baseball as his biggest passion and a daughter plays softball in middle of trying to get recruited. My comment in no way was disingenuous.

You’ll make more money working at UPS or McDonald’s compared to playing for a AAA club.

The harsh reality is that a lot of those guys live like peasants for years and slave away hours to perfecting their game, yet never get called up.

Good morning. His draft season is 2027. He still has to get through his senior year in high school.

I apologize for not responding sooner. My understanding is teams will send out questionnaires. Training videos will be shared. Health updates will be shared.

He was just required to create an intro video providing his age, positions played, current stats (example: pitching 93 mph fastballs with great and consistent accuracy), health status, medical history.

At this point I honestly do not know what else will be asked for or provided.

Thank you all for the responses (even the traditional and expected TD responses. It wouldn’t be TD without some ribbing).

Triple-A (AAA): $35,800/year
I'm genuinely surprised AAA is that low; any data on average and / or median ? I figured at that skill level they'd be making a livable no-second-job-needed salary.

No worries at all. I appreciate the response.

They didn’t have anything like this when I was trying to come up in the late 2000s. My dad and I put together a monthly news letter of sorts, and had about 50 schools and MLB teams we’d send it to. It would contain my pitching schedule, video, notes on outings, etc. It was wild seeing how much they appreciated it.

I geared up to try and make a service out of it after I was done playing. Unfortunately I valued being a lazy shite more at that point in my life.

Awesome. One of the kids that went to middle school with ours just signed $140m MLB contract. He’s 21

Congratulations to your grandson.

Why would they make more? Triple A has multibillion dollar TV deals? Worcester Red Sox tickets are expensive and fill up 35k seat stadium? This is baseball we talking about. They’ll frick with your service time to keep your salary below fair market value
I believe for Triple A the salary is also impacted if you have prior big league experience or are on the 40 man roster
Keep in mind this was MiLB’s first ever collective bargaining agreement. MLB union didn’t get what they have today on their first CBA. It took decades of work.
