Matt Jones was probably the most gifted athlete I've ever seen wearing a Razorback uniform but he only made it a few years in the NFL because he didn't love football. I don't even know that he liked it aside from getting to play qb on game day. He wasn't interested in anything that went along with it.

Bradshaw hanging on to his "job" for dear life cost the steelers the possibility of another great run if they would have drafted Marino and let Bradshaw go.

I think he liked the hookers and blow that come along with being a pro athlete

That's the irony of all of it. Bradshaw has openly admitted he likes and enjoys college football far more than the NFL, I think he even said once in an interview that playing at LA Tech was the best time of his life, but the NFL pays the bills.

He's been in broadcasting basically since he retired, so he's banked millions upon millions. It's still football, which he does love, but just hated playing for Noll and hated the business of pro football.

Terry is still a southern farm boy and would be far more comfortable going to a small rodeo in Springhill and being around all the cowboy rednecks than he would be in an nfl stadium.

It's probably why he and Jimmy Johnson are such good friends. Johnson has known him since he recruited him in high school and Jimmy if all people on those sets understands the region where Bradshaw comes from.

I always find these cases interesting. Adam Dunn in baseball, Andrew Bynum in basketball, guys with talent but don't particularly like the sport.

Think of all the guys who have died early or were crippled mentally and or physically, who played in that era.

I’m a big Terry Bradshaw fan except that he knocked my HS out of the playoffs in ‘65.. If he says he hated it, I believe him. But I bet in addition to the farm loans he was paying on, I think he had some ex-wives that had a hook in him also...which may have also affected his state of mind at the time.

I mean shite. Who really enjoys having to slave away to simply survive let alone slave away to do what you really want to do. shite sucks. Who would actually do what they do for a living if they weren’t paid what they are for it? Not many,

Since you won't, I will. According to Wiki, average NFL salary in 1978 was 62,600.

He did not say that for his HOF speech.

Seem to recall him saying something like, "What I wouldn't give to put my hands up under Mike Webster's butt one more time"

Rings different than "Thanks but I hated this shite"
