This is why I care about Tulane - so you're right there.
I just also know that Tulane hides money EVERYWHERE, and I'm cool with the kids getting a check here and there too.

This will be happening a lot more with the NIL and all.

Everyone is sick of CFB right now.

But lets not pretend that there aren’t a lot of coaches and athletic department administrators that would jump at the chance for an opportunity in NFL/NBA/MLB because they absolutely hate the current unlimited free agency and bidding wars under the guise of NIL. At least the entitled players you have to put up with in the pros are under contract, the system is well thought out and regulated, and you don’t have to deal with boosters or the extra BS that comes with a bunch of players being represented by family members.

I was fine with NIL within the sprit of what it was supposed to be. You perform, you go out there and make money off that make, get a % of the jersey sales etc
But that’s not what it’s been, mostly because the NCAA went kicking and screaming

They could have fix this and several other issues if the money could be held in a trust and paid out UPON GRADUATION. The players could be accumulating wealth and still getting their education, they'd have incentive to stay at one school, and would still be free to transfer if they wanted, they'd just forfeit past earnings.
“Come play ball at LSU. We’ll hold $1million in a trust for you and after 5 years you can collect it. But if you leave early you forfeit the money.”
“Sounds great coach. Can’t wait.”
Next season:
“Hey coach. Alabama has offered me $2million to transfer so you can take your $1million and shove it.”
Point being, unlimited transfers with immediate eligibility is the problem. The money is just the incentive.
Unlimited transfers with no money, no incentive. Limited transfers with money, problems. Unlimited transfers with money, chaos.

It's only a matter of time before the liberal college presidents require NIL collectives to be spread equally across all sports in the name of Title IX.
Lol That will never happen

quote:How are they going to fix this? The Supreme Court ruled that our favorite sport was illegal. I’m not saying anything novel. We’ve been squeezing the last bit of enjoyment out of the sport we could get. It’s time to create something new. I guess people are used to getting on here assuming everything is hyperbole. In this case I promise you it is not. The legacy model is dead.
I'm curious if the prominent decision-makers of CFB are seeing this and taking any accountability.

Make the players university employees and sign contracts.
So we're going to create another 11k government jobs that'll cost 6 figures apiece under this administration?
Nah. Just end college football. The NFL will come up with what they need.

Are they?
If a player leaves LSU, I don’t start rooting for his new team. His replacement, who transferred in, gets my support. I’m rooting for the team, and though talent level and outcomes etc are affected, I’m loyal more to the team.
In fact, few players are at a program because it fulfills a dream. CFB is business to them, there is no real concern what colors they wear.
Sports, but especially football, evokes tribal associations through colors, cheers, traditions and shared history. Those will continue and in my mind are more powerful than personnel.

Said it has poisoned the sport beyond repair.

Yeah, he took a demotion because he loves those players. He said F dem kids, threw up some deuces, and bounced.
This is what he said on Twitter:
I'd rather be a position coach with some professionals than a babysitter for a bunch of entitled children that can't catch a swing pass but think they should get six figures and a lifetime supply of car batteries from Auto Zone.
Someone asked him why so much anger, he responded:
These little bitches and their cucks on social media like WestCoasAg have worn on my last nerve. I'm out.
