Boston with top 3 pick, who do they draft?

They have Brooklyn's first round draft pick, which right now is shaping up to be the #1 pick if the lottery balls fall right.
Who do they draft?
With Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown (the #3 pick last year) in the backcourt and the top picks being PGs, who do they draft? How should they play that?
They get Brooklyn's first round pick next year too. It is crazy to think that one of the top teams in the NBA right now might have 3 straight years of top 3 draft picks.

I could see Ball or Fultz as playmakers. There's no dominant big man for the top 3. Maybe Lauri Markkanen if they become infatuated.

I'd say that Brooklyn had to have protected those picks, but it's Brooklyn so I doubt they did.

i think thomas is on the way out. they're getting a PG.
even if thomas isn't leaving, i think boston's front office is smart enough to draft the best player available.

Nope. Boston gets their first round pick.

Well if they were protected it wouldn't matter if they traded it or not.
But yeah, I believe I see that in 2017 Boston has the right to swap 1st round picks w/ Brooklyn and they have the Nets' first rounder next year outright.

There's a theory that Ball or Fultz could team with Isaiah Thomas in the backcourt and play off each other where both play PG and SG. Thomas is really good at getting open without the ball in his hands as well.
Do you move Avery Bradley at this point? Marcus Smart? Jaylen Brown (who has shown real potential as a rookie).
Bradley is one of the best defenders in the league. Ball/Fultz won't be competing at his level in year one and Boston's window is opening up right now. How do they play this?

This is a no-brainer. You draft Ball, trade Isaiah Thomas before you have to hand him a $200M contract in 2 years.
He's never going to have better value than right now, to the Celtics.

I see your point, but how do you just trade the league's #2 scorer? What do you get for him? At some point, Boston needs to compete for a championship. How far back does trading Thomas push that window?

When he's a 29 year old 5'9", who will be looking for a 5 year 200M contract to take him through his 34 year old playing season- 2 guard who is protected defensively by the rest of your roster?
Easily.
There is no shortage of teams that need a guard that can score; no, you aren't going to get back equivalent value, but if you can sell for 85 cents on the dollar, you do it all day.

Thomas is a great scorer, but he's a liability on the other end. His value is at an all time high, you take the gamble and move him now because you won't win it with him.

sure, he scores 10 points/4th quarter, but he's giving up 9.
i'm not exactly sure what they can get for him though.

If they could have lured Durant last year, that would have been perfect, obviously. Who do you get for Thomas that makes up for the scoring and can fill holes?

Draft Jackson; trade Thomas. Boston has a lot of things they can do with their future if they get a pick that high.
Why ya'll don't seem to think Boston shouldn't take Jackson is baffling. The guy is as NBA ready as any I have seen outside the guards coming into the draft. He is WAY ahead of Tatum.
Jackson is going to be incredible in the NBA very quickly.
