well, youre not considering the people who will buy the jersey, JUST for the logo so its pretty much a wash

Well, that's certainly hyperbole. But still. You're over estimating the number of people who would have to refuse to buy jerseys for it to have a financial impact on the NBA.

If teams average $5 mil each, that's $150 mil in additional revenue. Meaning they can sell 1.5 million fewer jerseys at $100 a pop and still break even.

Oh look, a business opening up an obvious revenue stream. This is an inevitable outcome

Correct. Yet another revenue stream as the NBA continues its golden age.

2. Businesses don't advertise for shits and giggles. It works. Plain and simple.

A corporation would kill to be the business face of a championship team. StubHub on a Sixers jersey as they hoist a Larry (it's a hypothetical, just roll with it ). The exposure would be insane, not to mention every time someone hearkened back to that moment, they'll identify with that particular sponsor. That shite pays off in SPADES in the business world.

don't see how this is even a big deal whatsoever.

I'll probably cherish my old-school, corporate-free jerseys more than the ones on the horizon, but they'll eventually become a normalized part of the sport.

If a pro team started sporting my company's logo, I'd definitely consider buying one.

If my favorite team started wearing my company's logo? Hell, I'd probably buy every jersey in triplicate

If memory serves they actually did want to do this when they moved there from Vancouver but Stern nixed it

I'd be for it if it meant lower ticket prices or less commercials during the game, or even less ads on the scorer's table and goal posts.

But none of that is going to happen. The fans have zero benefits from this.

Is this going to cut down on commercials? I'm all for it if it makes the viewing experience better.
