I think you need to go read up on Thorpe's accomplishments.

There's a difference between gratest resume and greaterst athlete.

Pretty sure if Bo went up against upper-class white guys in those country-club Olympcs back at the turn of last century...he would have won everything but fencing and polo.

So, go read the accomplishments. He won several olympics events, including the Pentathlon, and Decathlon, as well as played College football and Professional Football/Baseball/Basketball.

And Bo Jackson does? Bo Jackson played how many seasons in the NFL? Have you ever looked at his statistics in MLB? The guy was an incredible athlete, but I just don't see him being "the greatest of all time."

I think this is a great top two, but I don't think these two are the "undisputed" two best athletes of all time.

Thank you

You want to know how dumb the ESPN discussion was? They had Tony Hawk, Tiger Woods and Dale Earnhardt as finalists. For greatest Athlete of all time. Geez...Fail all over the place.

What about Gayle Sayers. Didn't he break Browns TD record as a rookie playing for a shitty Bears team. If Sayers had the medical techniques available to todays athletes he probably would have had a complete career
Brown competed against inferior athletes than athletes after integration. In comparing Brown, how many black athletes did he compete against, vs athletes of today. What was the percentage of black athletes in college in the 60s vs today. How would A Peterson have competed vs those slow white men in Brown's era.

I don't think some realize how seriously good Bo Jackson was at baseball. He was on track to be a first ballot HoF if we were to project out his career. His first five seasons he had 81 stolen bases and 109 home runs in just 511 games. To put that in perspective Barry Bonds in 717 games during his first five seasons had 117 hr and 165 stolen bases. On a per game basis, Bo Jackson very likely would have flirted with 300-300 club membership had he had a full career. Personally don't think there is any doubt he would have gotten there.

Safe assumption IMO. Have to remember he missed most of his senior season of baseball at AU, then spent less than a year at Memphis before being called up by KC.

His average went up double digits every single year for his first 5 years (until his injury).

His HR and RBIs per game went up every year for his first 5 years.

His last year with the Royals, he was on track for 42 HRs and 120 RBIs in 1990 before a separated shoulder put him out for almost 40 games. And this was before the steriod era when hitting 40 HRs was a big deal.

Bo was probably on his way to being a first ballot HOFer and an all time great MLB player, Most likely only the 8th player to ever hit 300 HR and steal 300 bases.

Jim brown was so good at lacrosse they changed the rules.

Yes, because the thing he was good at was cheap as hell. He put the stick up against his body and essentially ran through the other team, hanging on to the ball without any real stick skills. I'm not trying to say this as "Jim Brown sucks" or anything, but this wasn't like basketball getting rid of the dunk to stop Wilt. This was a legitimate rule change because the thing he was good at made a mockery of the game.

I think Jim Brown, as a lax player, is overrated.

Bo is definitely going to win that vote and he should, he is a better athlete than Brown was.

This entire bracket is a joke though, I am a HUGE Dale Earnhardt fan and think he doesn't get nearly enough respect in the racing world, but he is not close to the GOAT athlete. There are a lot of guys on there that have no business being and a lot of others that should be there that aren't.

Bo is a great athlete, among the GOAT, but he is not the GOAT. He isn't even the greatest athlete to ever come through the SEC.
