I saw the Gamecocks pay there twice. I'm a glutton for punishment.

If I lived in Birmingham I'd love to scoop up a $5 ticket and dip out of the office at lunchtime to take in a college football game

you'd think many men would have the same idea right? But the people in charge don't think like that and realize that any revenue here is going to be from TV so any tickets sold are irrelevant. The cheapest tickets I saw the day before the game were like $40. Granted that's not a lot of money, but for THIS situation it is. As you said they should have basically been giving tickets away but they never really came down from that ~$40 range from what I saw. Imagine trying to take the wife and kids to this...who in their right mind would pay $160 just to get in the door for that?

If you knew the history between the two teams, you would watch.

App State and Southern absolutely HATE each other. Goes back to their 1-AA/FCS days in the Southern Conference. There’s no game either team would rather win.

We attended the game yesterday. The bowl folks do a good job on game day. The teams are who they are, although I was surprised to find out that these two have a history and cannot stand each other. Plus, I love Protective Stadium.

Good times.

Rematch of a 6-6 and a 5-7 team from the Sun Belt. Who in the world is attending or watching?

I got my master's at Georgia Southern. I watched. I attended the New Orleans bowl last year too.

App State and Georgia Southern is a heated rivalry, known as Deeper Than Hate.... Think Michigan / Ohio State level hate. It's beautiful.

Georgia Southern in the 90s was what NDSU is now. Maybe consider just not talking anymore. If you don't want to watch football, don't watch.

I remember the day I learned about GATA. It was awesome. Also, this quote is badass from our legendary coach:

Honestly if I were a boss I would get tickets and bring my employees to a bowl game like this. Especially if it is during the workday.
My employees would probably murder me if I drug them outdoors for this. We couldnt even get people interested in watching Auburn shite the bed against Houston two years ago and we did a Bloody Mary bar three blocks from the stadium. No one wants to work this week.
