I just love this mythology that has built up around Napier as he continues to "turn down" jobs.
Wouldn't be shocked if he crashes and burns when finally getting to P5.

I think it is strangely odd that you believe otherwise. For someone who says that are so happy with the selection of your new HC, you seem very insecure about it. Do you represent the majority of Columbia fans?

The whole back and forth is getting silly. Sounds like many South Carolina fans WANTED Napier, but their AD had different plans, and Gamecock fans aren't too happy about it.
I honestly don't care if Coach Napier was offered or not. He's still with us, and I'm hoping this season with all the returning starters, his fourth year on the job with his system, and fans actually in the stands will be as awesome as some of the "experts" are hyping.
If that happens, I hope he gets the dream offer he's been waiting for and makes that real life-changing money for his family. Billy Napier has been nothing but a class act for the university and the community, and to be quite honest, it's shitty that Acadiana hasn't yet shown up with the same support and attendance at Cajun Field like they did for Mark Hudspeth.

We’re not punching down to anyone. Some idiot said he passed on us when that’s clearly not what happened.
Our AD chose Beamer over Napier. That’s the fact. We as fans were not happy with that choice, but that’s the reality of it. I can’t speak to what happen with him and Auburn but he absolutely did not pass on us.

Well, if Napier opted out of the equation, then the effect is still the same: he turned them down, and not the other way around.
Because I can tell you for a fact that Napier did not feel that Columbia met his criteria.

Are you done making stuff up?
-Most of the fanbase wanted Napier.
-Napier would have been a natural fit due to his much deeper connections to the state of South Carolina.
-AD and a lot of the old farts in charge wanted Beamer.
-There was also a lot of former player support for Beamer from his time on Spurrier's staff.
-Napier wasn't offered as a result.
-Napier was clearly interested in South Carolina.
-There was nothing for Napier to turn down.
Do you understand now?

No, and this discussion is silly. I will take what I know to be facts, plus what most of the entire sporting world knows about about Napier and not give any credence to what some random guy on a fan forum believes/says, and will just leave it at that.

I'm not a fan of USCe, ULL, or any team Napier was associated with last offseason, so I don't care.
I'm high on Napier personally and I thought USCe fricked up giving Beamer the job over him, but obviously you never know how it's going to work out.
ULL fans have nothing to be upset about in the grand scheme - this team is pretty stacked and it should be a great year.

I was at Suire's the other day in Kaplan and overheard someone that claimed to be the cousin of Billy Napier's landscaping guy, and he 100% said that Billy Napier turned down a strong arse offer from South Carolina because you guys fricking suck. Sorry it hurt your little feelings.
