In some ways it is but then on the other hand you have to imagine that putting these guys in modern strength and conditioning programs would make a difference too.

John Elway...any era. If the rest of my team sucked - he could carry them...rocket arm - very athletic - would always be our weapon to keep us in games. If our system sucked - he could carry us...no matter the era.

This is why[IMO ] he is the BEST EVER................

Billick would have picked Elway but John stood behind his dad and cried about not wanting to play for Billick

Kige

People love him for his talent more than what he really did relative to other great quarterbacks

That's a brutal assessment of Elway. How many Hall of Famers did he play with during his career with Denver (Terrell Davis would have been one if he had not been injured and provided the balance to help Elway get over the hump, of course)? Yet Elway took them to five Super Bowls and won the ones his team was remotely capable of winning.

That's right ELWAY had as much talent around him as Brady did for his 1st three sb's.......

Glad you speak for other people. You must be a sage.

What he did? You must be one of those...win SB or you're a bum guys.

How about carrying 3 sorry arse teams to the Super Bowl. No surprise his average team didn't beat his Super Bowl opponents...it was really his fault Denver's D gave up 30 points in the 2nd half to the Giants in the SB --- or that Denver's D gave up 35 points in the 2nd quarter to the Redskins after Elway had staked them to a 10-0 lead...

And not many teams in history were ever going to beat the '89 Niners.

I'm the biggest Brady hater on this board likely. I was just answering your question

Brady arguably had less talent around him in his wins than Elway did in his.

Billick is correct. most people don't realize how good Graham was. He revolutionized the game in a big way. he was incredible. He is my all time greatest player and its not close.

But in his losses??????? Elway did something that I have not seen a qb do with such little talent around him........ Brady had a shitload of talent in EVERY SB his teams went to than Elway EVER had.......

Pats D held the Greatest Show on Turf to 17 points in the Super Bowl and forced 3 turnovers which resulted in 17 points.

Pats won 20-17 - those 3 points came at the end on a long field goal by Vinatieri.

To give credit to Brady for winning over Elway taking his teams to his early Super Bowls and losing is ludicrous by comparison of their respective defensive performances and who they played in those Super Bowls.

HAHAHAHA you just contradicted yourself in 2 statements. You agree with me it's arguable that Elway had a ton of talent in his 2 wins, then tell me Brady had more talent than Elway did on any of his teams.

I hate Brady, but he answers the question of who else has taken a team to 5 superbowls

If someone asked you to describe Otto Graham based on one play or one video, which would you choose?
