Listened this morning, they really don’t talk about anything about the “controversy” which is about what I expected.

The first 30 minutes is Torre essentially saying “I’m so smart and so good at journalism I don’t know why more people don’t consume my stuff” sucking himself off. Just typical Big J stuff

Because you’re a fricking loser dork brother, that’s why

I'm inclined to take the side of Simmons on this. At least when Simmons broke on the scene he was a fresh, humorous voice in the sports culture landscape. It was after he became "somebody" did he become the self-important turd he is now. Pablo Torre has always been a smarmy, talentless douche canoe. He may have the most punchable face in sports broadcasting - and that's factoring in that Skip Bayless exists.

ESPN is the only network who would have hired someone as obnoxious as Torre.

I don’t like either of these clowns, but I have no problem with a journo trying to expose misdeeds of the highest paid public employee in a state when there is an obvious opportunist involved.

Simmons is an OG innovator for the sports media style that moved away from SI style articles to funny yet insightful articles with pop references, and then helped start the podcast boom.

Plus the take was a joke in a podcast so no big deal.

Torre has always thought he is the smartest guy in the room. Never wrong.

And we’re two pages in with no reference to Bomani Jones

I love Pablo and I think he’s a little too smart (like Bomani) for the average sports jock. But his reporting on this is beneath him, and kinda pathetic. Let TMZ report on Bills personal life. It’s amusing, but I don’t want to get that story from him. It’s a sunk cost, and a waste of his talents. Pablo is doubling down on it and it’s a bad look for him.

He really needs to give it up

Woke is not a bad thing. Too bad it was made into a slur.

Somehow caring, understanding, knowledge, patience, DEI became bad things because it pointed out all the structural/institutional flaws we have.

It’s clear as day that many Americans (as a whole, everyone’s included I’m
not singling anyone out) don’t really care to work on themselves to be better all around people. The only thing that matters is if they make more money.

That’s just a low bar.

No one? Tell on yourself.

It’s creepy and predatory as hell. Just because it’s legal and you can do it doesn’t mean you should. Does discretion not matter? He goes in front of young men and advises them to make better smarter decisions, on and off the field.

But he can’t himself? He can’t lead by example? That would be a hard sell if my kid was offered a scholarship by UNC

You're right. The fact this hot young thing is using her sexual attractiveness to prey on a vulnerable senior citizen is disgusting.

You’re right, he should stick to the tranny shite he was bragging about in the pod

If you actually listened to the pod, the story is a lot more than who Bill is dating. It's a big reason he wasn't offered a new NFL job, and there was a concerted effort on his part to get back into the NFL that was spearheaded by her. Lots more than old man chasing young tail.

Per the pod, she had been showing up to patriots games as early as 2021, lots of people who are around Bill, or were, are very concerned about where he's at, and in so many words, Pablo said Bill is a genius in football and an idiot everywhere else.

He mentioned how he was a Peabody journalist and that’s why he was in LA no less than 4 times in 20 minutes. The dude can’t help but suck himself off

I don't listen to him at all, so i don't have a already formed opinion of him like you clearly do, but he explained why he was actually in L.A., to accept that award, and the rest of the time he mentioned it (I didn't count) was tongue in cheek between him and Bill

Which was totally irrelevant, other for him to suck himself off, which he does constantly

They were discussing why he was actually in studio. Most of Bill's pods involve zoom. They were making sure people didn't think Pablo flew out to L.A. to confront Simmons because people were already making this a bigger deal than it was.

“I was actually already in LA which made this perfect, I could come in person”

Rather than

“I’m here for the Peabodies because I’m an award winning journalist, I actually usually only come to LA for the Peabodies which is the highest honor for journalist”

The dude can’t help but smell his own farts…. Constantly
