Good analysis and post.
True. Part of it is the media fawning over those two guys and their respective franchises, I suspect. Plus, to me there's something that seems cold about Brady . . .maybe I transfer a little of his coach's personality to him.
Fair enough. I think some people are put off by his wearing his religion on his sleeve. Probably not a bad guy.
I absolutely agree with this. He has surprised me ever since he came into the league.
I suggest that Big Ben, Favre (as someone pointed out . . . the latter day Favre), Milton Bradley are good choices.

I see quite a few Tom Brady and Tony Romo mentions.

Also a lot of Tim Tebow hate. I think that hate is misdirected. We hate the coverage Tebow gets, none of which is his fault. He's just an overrated, possibly dim-witted guy who was a great college player and seems like a decent person.

And I honestly don't see why Lebron gets so much hate. The guy has carried himself fantastically since he came into the league at a young age surrounded by a ridiculous amount of hype

i use to be a huge lebron james fan. i even bought his jersey.. and i never buy jerseys.. let alone basketball jerseys..
i know a lot of people don't care about politics and what not.. but when lebron came out and said if he could dunk on anyone it would be george bush.. it really rubbed me the wrong way. i think it's disgusting taste and just another popular thing to do..
again to clarify.. i don't care who athletes support politically.. i just don't appreciate when a guy openly bashes a former president and it's okay..

Mike Vanderjagt was the biggest to ever roll through the Dallas sports scene.
And this is Dallas. That's SAYING something.

Love the Vaderjagt comment. But for me, it's this guy:
Raja Bell
For some reason, I just hate this guy. Just a piss ant.

Re Milton Bradley getting so many mentions: Not sure he fits the "douche" label. I think people are confusing insane/sociopath with douche.
I think Milton is more Crazy Carl Everett (insane/sociopath) than he is A-rod (quintessential douche). Or maybe Milton is Albert Belle (some combination of the two categories).

lee bowyer. on the left. the mirror (shitty tabloid, but right this one time) once described him as "boozing, pot smoking, violent, racist, cowardly, unapologetic, lying, odious, transfer-listed lee bowyer (now try to sue us you scumbag)"
joey barton. on the left. just a huge cocksucker. has a rap sheet that's probably a few pages long by now. eta: also received a suspended sentence for assaulting his teammate during practice. put a cigar out in another teammate's eye.

Unless I missed it, I can't believe this name hasn't made it up here yet...
Tim Duncan
Also got to go with
Tiger
Phillip Rivers
T.O.
and if we were talking about the biggest douche in the history of sports then
Jose Canseco
