You can get turned around out there on the field, which is a valid excuse. Prior to the free throw, Webber's coach is telling them "we have no times out".

Colorado at Missouri in 1990, the Buffs got five downs. They went on to split the NC with Ga Tech.

Miami got five downs vs. Tulane 20+ years ago, as well.

I think everyone is referring to the fact that no timeout or spike occured prior to the clock running out. Like before the last pass was thrown.

I know people get so pissed about the Ole Miss game, but it doesn't come close to a list of most bone headed plays. It was really overrated by the media to create a story. FWIW, LSU shouldn't have even been in the game to begin with. Ole Miss had a lot better production out of their players.

shite Mark Richt let time run out on the 1 yard line several years back in an Auburn loss.

John Harbaugh called a pass play on the 14 yard line with a top rushing attack against Indy last year which led to an interception and loss. He followed that play with a TO and then a dumb challenge at the same time netting the loss of two TOs.

The Saints make one of the most unbelievable come back plays spanning the whole field only to miss the PAT.

LSU gives up a long TD as time expires in the Capital One Bowl partly due to the fact a guy defends no mans land instead of the only hail Mary option.

Ronnie Prude catapults himself off another player to block an Auburn PAT which allows them to rekick it.

Reggie Bush tries to lateral the ball at the five. Yard line against UT in the NC instead of just letting himself be tackled.

Josh Booty throws an interception late in a game vs UAB which allows UAB to kick the winning field goal.

The fact Nick Saban got his arse handed to him in losses to the far inferior programs of UAB, ULM, and Utah.

Even though it didn't have much of an effect on the game, Manny cutting off Johnny Damon's throw from the outfield to third base. Manny was about 20 feet from Damon, leaves his feet and dives to cut off a ball heading for the infield, then gets up to throw it himself. I have no idea what could have possibly been going through his head.

here's the marshall clip

LINK

it's not like they were in the middle of the field, then it might be easy to get turned around. The niners were backed up to their own endzone. When he was running 70 yards in the other direction, it should have occurred to him "hey wait, I should only have to run 30 yards at the most to score..." Also, he was looking at the guy fighting for more yards when the ball popped out, then continued to run in the same direction as him.

That's a boneheaded play no matter how you spin it.

and LOL at the Ruben Rivera play!!! I've never seen that before, had me laughing hard.

High school state championship football game, 5 seconds left, the QB tries to run out the clock because they are up 5. He takes the snap and starts running backwards, then as soon as the time hits 0 he drops the ball in the endzone thinking he just won the game. The other team ended up picking up the ball in the endzone for a touchdown and won instead.

They had a clip awhile back where a highschool team threw their last prayer for the endzone. It was intercepted. The defensive player thinking it was over spiked the ball backwards which the other team recovered and ran into the endzone for the win.
