Gordon, Gregory didn't fail this time, he missed his drug test while he was in California in drug rehap.

This kind of ruling by Goodell makes me want him out even more. I understand I am biased being from Dallas, but Goodell is a maverick dulling out punishments however he sees fit, his Thursday night football has been terrible for the quality of the game, Ray Rice tape, concussion cover-up, etc. I personally don't understand how he is coming to these punishments on pot when it has been legalized in a number of states including DC. In 10 years, this won't even be tested far, but now he is handing out year long suspensions.

Just as a disclaimer, I am 100% against the legalization of weed and would never smoke it. I just think its ridiculous how it is handled by the NFL.

Gordon could have been one of the best players in the league for a long time, so I'll go with him.

Well considering it's still a federal crime, and not legalized in even a majority of the states, how could an organization justify knowingly allowing players to break federal laws?

You mean the same organization that is allowing a player who blew a .217 while he was behind the wheel to play in the playoffs? Or the same orginization that allowed a kicker to continue playing even after admitting to DV?

The NFL's view on weed is outdated and it reflects the country's outdated view as well. The NFL could simply choose to ignore it like the MLB or NHL, instead they have the harshest punishments.
