Floyd easy

RJJ was a great boxer, but benifited from weak competition his whole career as well

Also, Roy's flaws and bad technique were exploited in the first Hopkins fight.

So I am guessing you didn't actually see the fight? That fight wasn't even close Hopkins had a few moments towards the end but was never a threat on the scorecards or to for KO. Still to this day almost 20 years later no one has beaten Hopkins the way Roy did

please tell me this is a joke? No one with even a shred of boxing knowledge could possible think Floyd Mayweather faced any where near the level of competition Roy Jones did

Apparently your the joke with no boxing knowledge. RJJA lost to some serious competition, but Floyd beat his

Off top of my head:
RJJ- James Toney, Bernard Hopkins (1-1), Vinny Paz, Jeff lacy, Tarver (1-2), Tito

Floyd- mosely, de la Hoya, hatton, Victor ortiz, zab Judah, baldomir, juan Manuel Marquez, Arturo gati, Castillo (2-0)

It's irrelevant what happened to Roy at the end because the question posed was "In their prime".

The name guys off the top of my head? Please elaborate.

I would love to hear your thoughts as a boxing expert.

ETA, I've probably watched, and been around more boxing than you ever will

Roy Jones is the greatest boxer I have ever seen in my life. Also, I think there are about 10 too many weight divisions in boxing. If the two met at 160 (anything under 150 is a joke) in their primes, Roy would have destroyed Floyd.

I'll educate you. You have the 2 obvious all time great wins over Toney and Hopkins both in their prime

Jorge Castro Roy dominated him and a few years later Castro would go on to be the #1 ranked middleweight in the world

Thulani Malinga Roy KO'd him. Malinga was thoughg to have arguable the best chin in the sport, some thought he was robbed against Chris Eubank and would later go on to beat Nigel Benn to become the champion at super middleweight

Julio Cesar Gonzalez after Roy dominated him. Gonzalez would go on to beat the guy all fans were clamoring for Roy to fight Daruisz Michalewitz(sp). Gonzalez also had a few other good wins against Glen Johnson and Montell Griffin

and I could go on and on because Roy has a deep resume of legit dangerous opponents

Well do it. Because for everyone of Roy's I missed, I also missed one of Floyd's. And Floyd's "name" resume is better already.

So make a list for both, and stack then side by side

And Roy did not beat Bernard in Bernards prime. He beat him in 93, 5 months after B-Hop won his first ever belt.

I'd say B-Hops prime was somewhere in between there and his next loss, which came 12 years later

Roy Jones Jr was the second best fighter I ever saw pound for pound. The best pound for pound, IMO was Julio Cesar Chavez. I would rank Mayweather below Hagler, Holmes, Duran, Pre-stripped Ali, Lewis.

Agree with that. He, Emmanual Augustus, and gatti are my 3 favorite fighters of all time to watch.

But for years watching RJJ beat sub-par opponents gets old.

Prime James Toney and prime Bernard Hopkins are already better than any win Floyd has

Floyd's best win is Corrales I am not even sure if thats better than Roy's win over Virgil Hill.

Floyd's "name" wins over past prime Mosley and De La Hoya are the equivalent to Roy's win over Mike McCallum and McCallum isn't even one of Roy's top 10 wins.
