There's the greats already listed, but the first guy I thought of was Shannon Sharpe. Calling the president on the sideline phone is a classic.

As noted, Bird gets a lot of the votes. When he was on the first Dream Team, Christian Latener was the college player selected that year. It was not one specific quote, but Bird rode his arse the whole time, brutally hard. Even MJ walked up to him at one point and asked Bird to back off a bit. Next time Bird saw Latener, he rode him even harder.

One of those stories about Bird was how pissed he got at Doug Collins for Collins putting a white dude on Bird. Bird said it was a sign of disrespect to his game for a coach to put a white dude on him.

Victim(s): White basketball players

When it came to basketball, Larry Bird didn't care about race. Okay, maybe a little, but his answer may surprise you. “As far as playing, I didn't care who guarded me. Red, yellow, black. I just didn't want a white guy guarding me, because it's disrespect to my game,” Bird said, who grew up in Indiana mostly competing against African American players.

During a 1987 game against the Chicago Bulls, the Celtics legend made it clear how offended he was about having white players guard him when Ben Poquette stepped up to him. Initially, Bird laughed at then head coach Doug Collins before telling him, “Ben Poquette? Are you fricking kidding me?” Larry Legend went on to drop 41 points in that contest.

I hate him more than anyone in the NFL but you gotta give some props to Steve Smith. He's as good of a trash talker as anyone in the NFL

Jordan

In the Bulls’ first-round battle against the Charlotte Hornets in 1995 after Jordan’s highly touted comeback to the NBA, Jordan didn’t hesitate to leave his mark.

According to former Bulls assistant coach Johnny Bach, Jordan was guarding Muggsy Bogues when this happened:

On the biggest possession of the game, Muggsy had the ball with the Hornets down one. Jordan backed off of him and told him, ‘Shoot it, you f***ing midget.’ Muggsy shot it, didn’t come close. A year later Muggsy actually told Johnny Bach that he believes that single play ruined his career. His shot never recovered.

The next year, Bogues’ career certainly started to decline. Whether or not Jordan was the primary reason for this is up to debate.

Love all the old Bird stories. MJ is GOAT, but prime Bird is right there.

I am putting Ali and Deion Sanders in my vote.

Both taunted their opponents. One dodged punches vs the best boxers in heavyweight history to go down as arguably the Greatest

The other constantly tricked WR's and QB's alike into thinking there was someone open, only to see Deion high stepping into the end zone. (He is my favorite athlete of all time, big part of me being a football fan)
