How did they even put that schedule together?
i believe it was a product of WM winning so much.. the 5A teams in Shreveport wanted no part of scheduling them.. in addition, WM was still in a 4 team district with Neville, Ouachita, and Ruston at the time, so they had 7 games to fill.. also, i think WM was pretty hung up on winning the 'national champion' polls at the time, and wanted to play the best available..

they were good.. but 'hands down' the best.. i dont think so..
those 1997-2005 West Monroe and Evangel teams would have done bad things to them..

I guess I am a good bit older than most of the guys here. This may bore you young guys.
My dad coached against a Woodlawn (Shreveport) team that won state, in 68 I believe, led by Joe Ferguson at QB. They were the best I saw in the 65-66 through 83 (I moved to Texas) time frame. Ferguson set national passing records at that time.
Ferguson followed Bradshaw at Woodlawn. Ferguson was followed by Johnny Booty. Woodlawn also had the best high school basketball team that I saw in that time period (early 70's) led by Robert Parish at Center.
