I'd like to see a South Panola vs West Monroe match-up. Actually not very far to travel. However, SP refuses to play an out of state away game.

This is not true. This year South Panola travels to Memphis (only about a 40 mile drive) to play MUS who's QB (Barry Brunetti) was one of the Elite 11 and has committed to West Virginia. Should be a heck or a game and I have been told its going to be on CSS.

Id love to See South Panola play against West Monroe. IMHO I dont know if West Monroe could keep up with the speed of the athletes at South Panola.

Easy killer, WM is loaded with athletes. shite this year they have a 6'0 220lb SS that runs a 4.4. (Robert Lay)

And I doubt South Panola could stop WM's offensive line this year. They are suppossed to be the strongest offensive line ever at WM.

I think S.P. has survived by playing inferior competition in MS that past couple of years. I dont think they are on the same level as Destrehan/WM/John Curtis.

Come on now be serious. They had an awesome O-Line back in 98 I watched them in the Dome vs Evangel and Brock Berlin. Whitworth was an NFL talent on that team and also think they had a couple of D-1 guys. Im assuming this years WM team has 3 or 4 D1 offensive linemen? I know about Jordan Allen the DE that committed to LSU does he play both ways?

Also regarding WM having lots of speed and athletes, have they had a lot of kids transfer over from inner city Monroe? Ive seen WM play a few times over the years and they always seem to be very fundamentally sound, have good line play, and a solid defense. I never remember them for having blazing speed or superior athletes. Most of their D1 signees have been Linemen or Defensive players in the front 7.

IMHO I think WM vs South Panola would be a hell of a game. On August 21 Ill be able to tell you more about SPanola, I will be covering their game vs Petal High (suburban Hattiesburg). I know Panola has the Best RB prospect in the state in Nick Parker who rushed for over 2,500 yds as a JR.

In 1998 Evangel was 3A while WM was 5A. WM destroyed everyone and won mutliple MNCs.

He said this year's OL is the STRONGEST ever. He didn't say they had the most D1 prospects. It's true, by the numbers this year's OL is the strongest. Every single starter on the OL squats over 500lbs.

Also, no way in hell is Memphis an out of state game. Technically it is, but come on. Like you said it's 40 miles away. Hell almost every district game for WM is atleast 90 miles away.

South Panola is a good program, but who have they ever beat? Evangel, Curtis, and WM all went out and found the best teams in the nation to play against. They didn't win them all, but atleast they stepped up and played them. South Panola got fat off of inferior competition.

I'm glad Meridian (altho a highly racist team) beat them.. Just wish it had been Oak Grove last season, bc we had the best shot ever.

How can Oak Grove call another team racist?

No kids play both ways at WM. It rarely happens.
I dont think this line is a good as the 98 team but weight room wise they are stronger and bigger.

They have three olineman that have a good shot to play D1 ball.
Andrew Bryan 6'4 315 (Smaller D1 schools showing interest ULM/La Tech)
Dillon Day 6'4 270 (LSU is showing alot of interest)
Wayne Hendricks 6'3 250 (Smaller schools like ULM have shown interest for him to play Center)

FWIW the QB for 1990 Ruston was a coach on that 1998 team and even he said 1998 WM was better.

What made the 1998 WM team better than the 1990 Ruston team was WM's defense was much than Ruston's!

LOL! That was Neville during the 70s, 80s and early 90s. Where did JR Ambrose and Toby Caston come from? Bubby Brister's parents lived in Ouachita's district! How did Neville win so much in the 80s and then fall off the map in the 90s after Charlie Brown retired? He knew every inch of south Monroe!

From Ole Rebels.com

The 1998 team was loaded with talent as the stats reveal. Six offensive players and six defensive players went on to play Division 1 Football. Brady James went to LSU and made All-American, then went to the Dallas Cowboys, where he is project to start in 2005. Rodney Reed (Atlanta Falcons), Andrew Whitworth, Brian West, and Jason Ledoux played on the LSU National Champion Team. Two went on to play Division 1-AA. Several continued their college careers in baseball. The 1998 version of the WM Rebels outscored their opponents 625 to 96. That is an average of 42-6.

12>10 and WM was #1 in the nation in 3 polls.

Yeah Dandy called B Dub the best DE he ever saw. Still, if you're hitting 97 on the gun and are picked as high as he was, you've got to give baseball a shot.

Moss Point had WM down 14-0 at the half in 2000,

I was at that game. Demarious Bilbo was the MP QB and was the best player on the field. WM was bigger and wore them out in the second half to win.
