I’m guessing the organization will honor Mo for his years of service (eye roll). If so, then no one needs to show up.

That's a little extreme and complete recency bias. Mo had a dominant run for many, many years first as a scout drafting Pujols and Molina and as a GM resulting in 2 World Series titles in his career. Two titles the Cards would not have without him drafting Pujols/Molina or trading for Holliday/Freese.

Named GM in 2007 and immediately traded washed Jim Edmonds for David Freese. Then in 2009 he goes and gets Matt Holliday. Both of those guys were huge keys to the 2011 World title and both of which are in the Cards Hall of Fame (Freese declined induction). As were smaller moves like Berkman where it felt like every string he pulled was the right one.

Then one of the greatest non-moves in history letting Pujols and that disaster of a contract walk.

The Cards were the 2011 and 2013 Organization of the Year under him. He won a world title as GM, 2 NL pennants, 6 division titles and 4 wildcards. If it weren't for the Giants in even years he probably has a couple more world titles.

It's his time to go as he has lost his magic or touch whatever you want to call it, but the owner also has demanded payroll decreases the last couple of years as well.

I tip my cap to him. Helluva career.

I thought the Cardinals were smart letting Pujols walk, and as much as that hurt Mo was right. He had a good run. He got Carlos Beltran also... Signing Arenado and Goldschmidt seemed like one last hurrah and it never worked out as far as post season success. It's too bad that pitchers like Wacha and Shelby Miller never really developed to their full potential...

The thing that has been irritating to me is how they fired Schildt after going to the playoffs many times and including an almost 20 game winning streak "due to philosophical differences" yet they roll this Oliver Marmol guy out there with no legitimate big league experience at all and he of course sucks but as long as he is a good boy it's all OK to the front office even if we lose... it's a huge middle finger to the fans and I hope they quit showing up until some new changes are made.

Yeah people get way too jaded about the final few years and disregard or forget just how good Mo was for a decade or so as GM with a ton of success and excellent moves but also before that as a scout.

Imagine getting to look back on your career and say you drafted Albert Pujols. Or even Molina, absolute legends. One of which is one of the greatest players of all time. Not to mention 2 rings.

Will be interesting to see what all Bloom has in store when he takes over in a month.

Yeah, just another reason that Cards fans are the best in the business. Hit them in the wallet, it's the only way a fan has a voice. They've done just that for 2 seasons now and demanded change. Just hope Bloom is up to the task.

Went last night(free tickets and cardinal bucks), spent money on dinner in soulard, took their tram,. was a beautiful night to be out.

No way there were more than 6,000 fans in stands. Smallest crowd i have ever seen in 54 years of life.

Good for the fan base, They took advantage of the fan base for 2 long, and the shills would keep going. Finally they said, frick you.

Ownership plans on raising season ticket prices 10-15%. lol, good luck with that. This is as dumb as disney alienating the star wars fans. Cardinal fans throw money at org, but you keep giving them the finger, lying, etc, and they finally said enough.

OWnership had a cash cow, and the herd to keep going thru them turnstiles, they got stupid, greedy, and ignorant.

Awkward is you still bleeding about the Astros in a topic about the Cardinals no less.

You are the biggest bitch on this site. Didn't the Dodgers finally win one last year? Change your tampon and move on.

I never understand these threads

Frankly most of the Braves fanbase is actively rooting for our fans to not show up to send a message to the FO. Seems like that is what the Cardinals are doing? We should be applauding them

These threads are just to poke the fragile bear because it’s fun. Fans are the same everywhere outside of Tampa, Pitt & Oakland. Win, they come. Lose, they vanish. Unless you’re the best fans in baseball. Then they vanish because “They’re sending a message that we won’t tolerate blah blah blah”
That roster and that farm system are in pretty bad shape

???

Farm system was just ranked #9 yesterday by espn. Cubs 19th.

9. St. Louis Cardinals ($257 million)

Preseason rank: 19

As Chaim Bloom takes the reins from John Mozeliak as president of baseball operations after this season, the Cards' system is in the best shape it has been in years (they ranked 10th after the 2022 season).

Overall, there is solid depth in the system and with the young talent in the big leagues, so I'm intrigued to see how Bloom handles the team-building challenge.

JJ Wetherholt is about the only reason I still pay attention, that kid is the real deal. Cards farm and young roster have them in the best spot in quite awhile for the future, up to Bloom now.

Well uhh, maybe just maybe, it’s because the Cubs graduated PCA, Matt Shaw, Cade Horton & Owen Caissie and used Cam Smith for trade. All top 50 prospects. 2 of those are at the top of betting favorites for ROY. Just a hunch.
Cards haven’t had more than 2 top 100s in years. And when they did…FLOP. Gorman? Walker? Winn took a step back this year too

The Cards have a top 10 farm currently. Your post was wrong. JJ Wetherholt is the #6 prospect in baseball higher than any guy you just mentioned.

Now you just sound jealous because you were completely wrong talking out of your arse. Enjoy that 19th farm going nowhere.

You’re right. The cards have been spitting out top prospects and turning them into stars regularly.

Serious question. Who was the last star to come out of the Cards farm system. (Only count those that actually played for them…sore subject, I know)
