Oh I know that. He's beast as hell, but I think at this point he's got a Dandy Don Meredith thing going on. Meredith >>>> Aikman by a lot but he never got a ring so people don't remember him. It's not fair, but it's the reality of the situation.

I would consider putting Big Ben ahead of Eli. But even if not, he's also ahead of Romo in my opinion.

The next couple of years are going to be key for Romo. The line is getting younger and better, the defense looks like it can actually stop teams now, and the offense might have a stable running game. The Cowboys should be very good the next few years, so hopefully Romo can pull a Dirk in the playoffs.

It will never happen but I would fricking crack up if we got an all-texas super bowl in New Orleans next year

both the texans and cowgirls are at least a couple of years away though

it's a legit discussion... the comparison of stats makes it even tougher.

Big Ben is fairly weak in the stat department. Gets yards, but doesn't throw for a lot of tds and has moderately high interceptions.

Eli had a better season last year, but Ben has had the better career overall, stats wise.

That is the most telling stat. 10 points higher is quite a bit of a difference in probably the most important Qb stat. And Big Ben has 100 career interceptions over 8 years according to ESPN.

Staubach easily. Aikman couldn't do squat when he had to carry an offense.

Yea I almost did that when I looked at the stats. So deceiving.

All that means is that Big Ben has been more consistent with his yards and completion percentage.

Top 5 active career passer ratings are:

Aaron Rodgers - 104.1 (also the shortest career)
Tony Romo - 96.9 (yes, Romo is actually 2nd all time for his career)
Tom Brady - 96.4
Phillip Rivers - 95.2
Peyton Manning - 94.9

One thing that is common between those 5 Qbs is, they are all elite passers, while some are the better Qb.

I have been struggling w/ this for years. I do believe you are correct, although Unitas/Montana fans will argue. Aikman is not in the discussion.

It goes in my opinion:
Roger
Troy
Bledsoe
Romo
White
Meredith
Kosar
LeBaron
Garrett
Hogeboom
Walsh
Pelluer
Sweeney
Lewis
Henson
Laufenberg

Eta: I'm basing over whole career not just as a Cowboy.

I'm one who will argue.

Montana. I will even say I rank Marino, Unitas and Manning above Staubach. Then you have early-era Otto Graham.

If basing off an entire career, I put Kosar ahead of Romo, White and Meredith right now. I think I also rank Danny White ahead for Romo for now, with discussion to be continued. Bledsoe below White, and probably soon to be below Romo.
