never said I hate the Cajuns. Its just football ie entertainment. I think you are entitled to root for whomever you choose. There is no such thing as the biggest fan trophy, contrary to what some of you believe

I think you will find that most LSU fans do not hate the Cajuns. They take exception with the Cajun fanbase for trying to portray the University as something it is not. You may want to argue that point, however at this time the university is not a true athletic competitor to LSU in the main sports. Also you sound like a pompous jackass deriding hard working people as "blue collar"

and you sound like a pompous prig for calling people 'asinine' because they don't agree with you.

You think welders don't know arithmetic? Also, what does football have to do with intellectual superiority? The arguments on here are mostly to do with the comparison of athletic superiority between the two schools, not the degree rankings.

Just to be clear, I think sidewalk or wal mart fan comments are asinine, no matter which fan base makes them. People go to different colleges due to majors offered. Others choose trades that are more financially viable than college degrees, does not mean they can not root for a particular school or football team.

I promise you that I never said that I have anything against welders. I'm friends with quite a few of them.

But some of these "fans" are the same ones who:

A) Do things like get triggered when they see "Louisiana" on the ESPN ticker. "You're trying to be something that you're not." My response? Take a marketing and branding 101 class. You'll get it by then.

or

B) question my education or downplay my degree when they don't even have one. See point (A) above.

Most of these Wal-Marters are the same ones who couldn't name the coach pre-Saban era, and love to use "we" when smack talking. "We are going to beat you." "We are going to win." Heck, for as many of these fans accuse our fans of rooting for Alabama, they're technically no different.

It's easy to latch on to a team that consistently wins. But they're the same ones who want the coach's head when they drop a game or two. Or they'll just find another team to root for.

no one is offended princess. If you did not mean it as a slight, then why quantify what type of worker in the 1st place?

I was just trying to make a point about fandom in general. You can pull for any team you like if it makes you happy. What does it matter to anyone if you are a bandwagon fan? Do you get any more enjoyment than someone who didn't attend your school when the team wins? BTW, I think it was great that ULL (not trying to be derogatory) beat Iowa state.

Not at all. But if you smack talk us and make it personal, we will bite back.

You're fine. It's only a matter of time before some Wal-Marter comes around to start a new thread about our name.

Well, UL is the second-largest university in the state and located in a city that's decent by regional standards. I don't see the issue with them wanting to be called U of Louisiana. Now, they do have some fans who are just incredibly deranged about LSU and will go out of their way to be petty, but I think that's mostly the older generations.

Great point on the use of "we" by fans. I don't care for trash talk in general.

You see, I was having a nice conversation with a Cajun fan and here you come with your insecurities. How many NCAA football championships do the Cajuns have? How many College Baseball titles do the Cajuns have? How many final four appearances do the Cajuns have? Did I say that the Cajuns can never compete with LSU? I did not. Are they a competitor as of now? Just because you want something to be true does not make it true.

where in the frick did i ever say we were 'competitors' of lsu? I never said such a thing.

But that was not point: you need to support your alma mater first and foremost. Full Stop.

You seem perturbed, no need to be angry. I thought we agreed to disagree? I think people should be free to support whomever they wish. It really shouldn't affect others who they support. That is why it is a great country. No insults, have a great day

UL is a notch below Tulane and even La Tech in athletics historically. They have a higher ceiling than Tech or ULM but I don't think any of their fans would argue they'll be a serious competitor with LSU lol
