Firing O@D coaches when the real problem is MANAGEMENTS failure
to bring in TALENT on the lines of scrimmage is the real reason for the
lack of success for the Bengals.Owership allways fires the wrong people
to make it look like they are doing something to fix the problem.BROWN
is the problem ,is now and always will be.All these owners do is try to fool
the fanbase by playing musical chairs with coaches and never fix the real
problems. Its just to keep the the fans coming back each season and spend
their money and getting duped.

Re-do Joe's contract, give him stock in the team, sign Tee Higgins and tag Chase, after the season make him the highest paid WR 2026.

These are the moves a franchise makes

When they’re doing everything in their power to avoid making the necessary, correct moves.

They should have Traded Higgins last year and drafted Brian Thomas Jr.

Salary cap = 255M for 50+ players

Joe Burrow = $55M salary
Jamar Chase = $31M Salary
Total 86M out of 255M (33.7%)

When 2 players accounting for 1/3 of your total 53 man roster's salary, you will have holes and probably a lot of them.

I don't blame Joe for getting paid and good for him.
However, you reap what you sow.

Your Defense and Olines suck because of your salary.

’ misnomer that the Bengal's don’t spend money.

Bengals spend like every other team on players
its the other things they scrimp on

they have SIX scouts and 2 others in personnel development.
Rams have at least 26

It’s the Bengals. They will mess it up. They could destroy a steel ball bearing.

The Bengals D got a lot better in the 5 game win streak. Honestly I think they had the worst oiline in the NFL. I know it’s tough to block when you trot out 5 WRs, but it literally looked like Joe Burrow had Tissue paper standing between him and the opposing defense in these situations.

I saw a bunch of Bengals fans say they hope that Joe Burrow will restructure his contract so they can keep Higgins and do other things. I guess they want him to be paid over a longer period of time to free up room in the salary camp. I have no idea if that is in the works or not though.

This isn't true.

Here's the data:
https://overthecap.com/salary-cap-space

And you're right - I can't do math - the Bengals salary is 21st in the league, not 19th.

I agree the defense was the main problem this year (and as was said, it improved as the year went on). But the O-line was definitely a problem too. Joe was running for his life (or just getting swallowed up) on at least half their plays.

This. Brown is a good enough for how they use him. But the bengals HAVE to build the o-line and the d-line. Go old school and build from the inside out.

I hope this signals they seriously want to win and are willing to build a good team around Joe and Ja'Marr. It's not just on the coaches though, they've got to spend some money on improving the O-line and improving the defense overall. Felt like 2023 LSU a lot this year, but with more sacks.

And here ^^^^ is the conundrum every NFL franchise has to navigate. Those teams who have great coaches, scouts and an owner who is willing to pay the price for excellence will generally be in the playoffs with a shot at a Super Bowl.

I don't think that's allowed. As a Chiefs fan I hope the Bengals give Chase a big contract and a contract to Higgins. Chase is obviously worth it but Higgins isn't. Top QB's like Burrow don't need a 2nd WR that costs what Higgins will. Besides Higgins seems to be hurt a lot. Bengals would be smarter to use Higgins $ on OL or defense. Bengals made a big mistake letting Bates go last year.

Top QBs don’t need elite WR’s at all. Especially at their going rate. There is a reason the Chiefs have been more successful without Hill. Just give Mahomes guys who can catch the damn ball and a couple with some speed, keep him relatively clean and he can handle this rest.

The Higgins injury thing is a real problem

But here’s the thing, they can go out and get a few free agents for the defense(which obviously will happen) but they have ONE single player worth extending on the defense currently. Might as well bundle all that whiffed draft capital they won’t be extending into a Higgins deal.

FWIW, a lot of the Bengals people have all the sudden started to feel hopeful a Higgins deal could get done now when that was not the case a month ago with his old agent
