If it was done purposefully his agent would leak it to a NFL reporter not some dumbass podcast.

It’s become a pretty fricking big story today. If that was the intention it seems to have worked

The idea is fricking stupid because he was already a reach at 17 but going back to school he'd have to actually perform and they'd still colluded against his arse and drop him in the draft to teach him a lesson.

I don’t disagree with you here, but you’re making the assumption these guys act rationally. We have mountains of evidence of the contrary.

Look, I don’t know how to say it any more clearly, this may be a nonstory, but I’m not willing to just dismiss it like skip bayless or someone of his ilk brought it up. I think Elliot does a good job with this stuff and has a really good tract record with it, and the current climate around the NCAA definitely makes it believable

Oh boy… something else to f college football up even more.

At this point I’m all in favor of more drama. Just bring it all on. Burn it down and rebuild.

The requirement to declare is the issue. Way more crazy shite (unlimited transfers, 7th years, etc) have been ligated and won. This wouldn't be surprising since the NCAA already allows it.

You’re making zero sense

LOL I'm on a roll....

Either way, I still like my idea of late round/undrafted early declarations in college football being allowed to return. The NFL could comp that team's pick the next year.

How’d we do against LSU last year????

Print the cups!

There's plenty of room in the A&M trophy case for commemorative cups every time you beat LSU since yall haven't won a championship since 1939

This is so dumb. He literally has no incentive to go back. The Bengals own his draft rights for years

They own his draft rights until the start of the new NFL year.

Its definitely a shaky area legally if it's allowed in some sports by the NCAA but not others.

It has nothing to do with the NCAA so much as different leagues run their drafts different ways. The NFL and NBA make players decide whether to formally resign their amateur status. Baseball doesn't. The NBA and NFL don't want to deal with leverage like the baseball draft. Being totally honest, the way baseball does it is ridiculous and why college seniors get fricked in the draft. You either leverage what you can get after your junior year or you'll get next to nothing as a senior.

Hunter was also seen as a later prospect. The point is that using CFB stats to justify someone in the NFL is foolish.

Hunter had a bunch of TFLs and made some freakish plays at LSU but they had him playing on the wrong side and splitting time with guys like Lavar Edwards and Jordan Allen. Coaching failed him but if you watched him at LSU it was there.
