They're gonna pay off his debt.
He'll have an easier path to the playoffs
And really who wouldn't want to live in Waco?

you think that universities should be handling criminal investigations?
Irrelevant to me. I think they have a duty to comply with the law. I don't think they came anywhere close to doing so in this case. The investigations were so inadequate that it was tantamount to not conducting them at all.

Hard to conduct an investigation when you have no investigatory power. That's why they found Sam U not guilty. Sam U roommate said he was home and didn't hear any struggle during the time of the rape.
Sam U goes to trial and it is found out that the roommate had lied when the prosecutor pulled out phone records showing he wasn't at home.

You're missing the point. They didn't talk to anyone. They didn't investigate anything. When charges were brought, they didn't reopen the investigation. Their failings weren't because they didn't have all the tools. Their failings were because they didn't use ANY tools whatsoever.

well that's great

sure, and the feds will have to investigate Baylor if they wish
and that's a Baylor issue, not a Briles issue

that's up to the feds (or possibly court via lawsuits) to decide. until we see all the evidence, we shouldn't rush to judge

it seems like many were stifled when the criminal investigation died
and if it didn't, the players were suspended upon indictment
that's perfectly reasonable to me

why possibly interfere with a criminal investigation?
let the police handle it and suspend the player. that's what they did

Who is rushing? Baylor has dismissed Briles. Ken Starr might survive, but that isn't even settled yet.

everyone making proclamations about incidents where they can't possibly have all the information to judge
have we all forgotten UVA? Columbia?

The Baylor BOR thought it was bad enough to sack Briles. Exactly how is anyone rushing to judgement? If a school filled w/lawyers thinks it's that bad, ITS THAT frickING BAD.

To comply with their responsibilities under Title IX. Further, if you are Ken Starr and Art Briles, to protect your job. Why should they do it? These are the consequences of not doing it.

Except in this case Baylor just completed an investigation and is cleaning house in response to it. In those cases, not so much.

Yikes! RIP Baylor football

If, the stuff is as bad as it looks on the surface, I'm not even sure Saban could ride it out. Not because the BoT or whatever Baylor doesn't support the coach but because covering up Rape allegations prior to a guy transfering in endangers the one thing more valuable to even a school like Bama than football/booster cash-- Federal Loan dollars.
I mean this is the hammer the NCAA supposedly was threatening FSU with and in the Baylor case its even worse because at least one of the guys had rape allegations prior to coming to the school and his coach supposedly told Briles-- that's about as clear a case of putting football over the safety of female students as you can get, its like they went out of there way to try and design a hypothetical Title IX violation that would put FAFSA money at risk.

Well shite, sounds like he did kind of a crappy job at that: "And remember Boys, no one is going to give you anything, you have to take it- no matter what anyone says!"
