Please god, please let VT go to the SEC if this all jail breaks. As someone who had lived in Chicago, we have nothing in common with the Big 10 fan base.
And even if we are getting our arse kicked, the women and food is so much better in the South
Sweet Tea for everyone

Just to point out, Baylor ranks the same as UVA (101-150 worldwide), who certainly would meet Big 10 standards. Kansas is an AAU member, which matters a lot.
That is Baylor College of Medicine (in Houston), which is an independent institution and not really at all related to Baylor anymore.
Baylor University, while strong in some areas, is not listed in those rankings.

VT to the SEC is would be a lock if UVA goes to the Big 10 ( I would think their power alumni/brass would prefer it over the SEC because of academics and the ability to compete with their (non-football) athletic teams).
The interesting case to me is UNC. Which would they prefer? They basically run the ACC with Virginia now. But if VA leaves, would they follow them to Big-10 and leave Duke behind? UNC also runs the board for NCSU. Would they allow the Pack to the SEC? Or would they choose to go to the SEC themselves and leave Duke and NCSU to fend for themselves?
I think UNC is the key player for what happens in the next round of realignment (if/when it ever comes). I think the basketball fans would much rather play the OSU's, Michigans, MSU, UVA (possibly), and renew the rivalry with Maryland rather than the SEC teams (which other than UF and UK is a wasteland). Football supporters though would much rather play Auburn, LSU, FLorida, etc.than visit Minnesota or Iowa in late October.

No ACC or Big 12 team is going anywhere till the GOR is up

When did UNC ever have a rivalry with them?

Otherwise, Kansas and either Texas, TCU, or Baylor (they want entry to the TX market, and Baylor has risen through profile in all sports considerably recently)
Baylor and TCU aren't research schools. They are no-gos for the Big 10. I would say Rice and Tulane would be picked by Big 10/ACC and maybe even SEC before either of those 2. Big 12 looking for immediate competitiveness. Other conferences, esp. Big 10, looking for university partners.

Maybe rivalry was a little strong, but there's no doubt UNC/Maryland had some classic games/upsets while Maryland was in the ACC.

Delaney went to UNC, he wants UNC. They bring a new market but UNC wont go anywhere without Duke. THE BIG TEN WILL GET BOTH

I'd love for OU to join the Big 10. Would bring back a classic rivalry.

That would be nice but they do not need any more teams in ANYMORE conferences...Just My opinion.. I don't even recognize Maryland as a big ten team.. Same with Rutgers.. I am just getting used to Nebraska being there....This kind of thing is why I kep talking about how it was way better back in the old days...

I agree but I just want some of the old Big 8 rivalries back. I miss the OU and CU games. I also miss the yearly spanking we'd give Mizzery. Sucks that I had to grow up in the Big 12 era where Texas ruined everything by making great teams leave the Big 12.
Oh well.

Duke and UNC are not hitched together. In fact UNC would love nothing more than to hurt Duke. UVA and UNC would gladly join the Big Ten in hopes of screwing over Duke.

They had some real good ones... 1982 OU 82-42 over Colorado... What a game..... And the OU/NEB game was a MUST SEE almost every year from 1971 on..... Todays generation cares NOTHING about tradition..........

Or the SEC gets UNC, Duke, Virginia or Virginia Tech, and either Oklahoma or Kansas to go to 18.
