It would be hard to not get at least a share.
Posted on 2/26/14 at 8:24 pm to TreyAnastasio
does the big ten call it a share if you tie with a team and have beaten them twice?
Posted on 2/26/14 at 8:46 pm to rockchlkjayhku11
Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe both teams would share the regular season conference title. However, the team that was beaten twice would receive the No. 2 seed in the BTT.

I agree 100%!! These next couple of years are no different either. There are some dam good basketball players in Central Ohio. 6'3" Jordan Dartis of Newark and 6'5" Kalil Iverson of Delaware are both kids that Ohio State aren't recruiting and both will end up going to other B1G schools, will come back to haunt us. Matta needs to focus a little more on Ohio kids right now. The state is freaking loaded!
The Ohio class of 2016 is one of the best in recent memory. The AAU teams are staaaacked with All-Ohio Red and several others. A team from Central Ohio (not AOR) went to Indy this summer and won one of the most elite tourneys in the nation, and that was with kids not even considered elite. This state is loaded with bball talent

Hey Tress you might know more about this. What the frick is going on with Kam Williams?
Posted on 2/26/14 at 10:59 pm to hoopsgalore
yeah that's how it is in the big 12, too. i think it is acceptable in a league that is unbalanced like the big ten or sec, but if you have a true round robin and beat a team twice you should not have to call it a share.

Yeah a little bit of a difference

Disappointing loss for Nebraska.
Three games remaining.
Northwestern - W
@ Indiana - L
Wisconsin - L
I think Northwestern is a win. However, I cannot, with a straight face, pick this team to win on the road. So I'm going to put Indiana as a loss.
I also cannot predict a win against Wisconsin. Even with it being a home game. They are still Wisconsin.
That would put them at 17-13 (9-9), not including whatever happens in the conference tournament.
Y'all think they make it in?

They are outside looking in. They need to get to 10 conference wins to have a chance.
ETA: Regular season conference wins.

This team reminds me of Iowa last year. Middle of the pack, bad on the road.
Finished regular season at 20-11 (9-9), went 1-1 in B1G tournament. Left out of the NCAA tournament.
Only difference is that Iowa didn't beat a ranked team. NU has two (#17 OSU, @ #9 MSU). Has to carry some weight.
But I agree. Need to get 10 wins.

Kam Williams is being redshirted because he was sidelined with mono for over a month at the start of the season. It's a shame too cuz we could use him. I sat through one of their practices over Xmas break and he looked good. Reminded me of Brian Brown...slasher that can shoot.

Just get VJ King. Kid is ridiculous.

I want to Luke Kennard too. We need somebody that can flat out shoot and he can certainly do that! Its one of the things we have lacked this season.

Kennard is a class of 2015 kid but he's definitely a game changer (although I think OSU is a long shot). King is a one-and-done kid but still need to reel him in. With Lebron's ties to OSU I think he ends up a Buckeye.
Then there's Tervell Beck, Willie Jackson, Seth Towns, Jalen Tate (Jae'Sean's brother), Derek Funderburk, Matt Moyer, Jarron Cumberland, Nick Ward...
There's also a lot of diamonds in the rough that I can see being mid-major standouts we will be talking about in a few years. You know, the "why didn't OSU recruit him?" conversations we have grown accustomed to.

Interesting that Mickey Mitchell hasn't decommitted yet with the rumblings about his dad's health and Mike Mitchell transferring (which also seems to have lost legs).
Posted on 2/27/14 at 11:22 am to VABuckeye
It would be a knee-jerk reaction for Mitchell to decommit now. He's only a junior and family issues will likely sort themselves out by then. That would be a HUGE loss for the Bucks. The kid is an absolute stud...future pro IMO.

Fact! Mitchell has the chance to be a once in a decade type of player. I too think he will be a pro!

You're saying Mike Mitchell might not transfer?
Posted on 2/27/14 at 12:55 pm to KosmoCramer
The rumors about him transferring have fizzled recently. Not sure what's going on at this point. IMO it was a decision based on emotion and maybe he has given it more thought.

When we were discussing SOS yesterday, it never even occurred to me to check the actual rankings

I thought Wisco had a better SOS than UM?
