People for some reason don’t realize how unreliable basically every reliever in the sport is outside of like 5.
There wasn't a ban on getting starting pitching and the Braves need about 2 more of those. But they went the cheap and easy route.

Only Greinke was a reliable difference maker and he would have cost $50M and probably Waters, Contreras, Muller, De La Cruz.

I don't know how many people actually watch Tigers games but those of us who did all said Greene was a powder keg. He has a crazy run of luck.

I've watched plenty of Tigers games this season. He's not great but above average

There were other starters to be had pitching a helluva lot better than Gausman
If you break it down to Top 3 starters for the playoffs you have more of a comfort level but you have a rookie, Julio who has been up and down his whole career, and a guy the Astros let go
That's not a World Series Top 3

He had a 3.70 FIP with the Tigers

Agreed I dont think this is a WS team though. They are multiple pieces away from that.

A guy the Astros could have kept and then they wouldn't have the issues in the back of the rotation like they do. Dallas is still more than serviceable. You know what you will get 6 innings of 3 run ball, you just need an offense that averages 4

Shane Greene is a hell of a closer. He finishes games, just not in our favor

Well if there’s a silver lining the Nats and Phillies lost today so after the Reds series we actually gained a half game.

Pretty sure Waters and Anderson are joining him.
